The interesting part is how a trade for a player like Maxx Crosby would change the conversation. Monti could easily come out and say that injuries have hit the roster hard, but the team is committed to winning which is why they added a top player.

The Cards are not that adept at controlling the narrative. Look at how Mikey handle the McDonough saga. Dude could have easily been silent but went out and hired a character hitman. Total clown show.

Go get Crosby and at least show the fanbase you are trying to be competitive on defense.

hmmm.... Still too early too judge this draft class but let's take a look at how they're doing so far:

• 2 (43): CB Max Melton, Rutgers - has shown promise - certainly not a bust yet
• 3 (66): RB Trey Benson, Florida State - not exactly setting the world on fire
• 3 (71): OT Isaiah Adams, Illinois - got some snaps against GB - is still a "maybe"
• 3 (82): TE Tip Reiman, Illinois - Chris's whipping boy - not his fault he was drafted so high!
• 3 (90): CB Elijah Jones, Boston College - on IR - has yet to record a tackle or anything
• 4 (104): S Taylor Dadrion-Demerson , Texas Tech - hmmm... probably overperforming so far
• 5 (138): EDGE Xavier Thomas, Clemson - healthy scratch in recent weeks - can't beat out Okwara?
• 5 (162): OT Christian Jones, Texas - IR
• 5 (191): WR Tejhaun Palmer, UAB - practice squad

If (big if) Robinson and Harrison meet expectations, all will be forgiven for 2024, especially if Benson comes around, and we also get a solid starter out of Melton, Adams or TDD.

I think most of the time you make your own luck in life, but MO sure isn't getting any love from the football gods with all the injuries.
