Nah. That group is as fickle as the wind.NO ONE WAS SAYING THIS AT THE TIME. Did Johnny V get fired by the PHNX crew?
No doubt.Schism between coaches and Monti?
I ma glad he did.
The interesting part is how a trade for a player like Maxx Crosby would change the conversation. Monti could easily come out and say that injuries have hit the roster hard, but the team is committed to winning which is why they added a top player. No doubt.
Our local media are kittens in terms of how a crap NFL franchise is treated.
I have heard radio shows from other NFL cities and the Cards and Bidwill have a cakewalk comparitively.
Imagine being Maxx Crosby, going from one loser franchise to another loser franchise. The interesting part is how a trade for a player like Maxx Crosby would change the conversation. He'd fit right in!Imagine being Maxx Crosby, going from one loser franchise to another loser franchise.
JJ Watt on this board?Imagine being Maxx Crosby, going from one loser franchise to another loser franchise.
The Cards are not that adept at controlling the narrative. Look at how Mikey handle the McDonough saga. Dude could have easily been silent but went out and hired a character hitman. Total clown show. The interesting part is how a trade for a player like Maxx Crosby would change the conversation. You don't understand. He wouldn't have a player of the quality of Zach Allen making life easy for him.Denver paid John Franklin Meyers 7.5 mil over 2 years in FA this year. 3 sacks and 6 pressures.
Monti paid Justin Jones and Bilal Nichols a combined 17 mil per year. 0 sacks and 2 pressures.
You cannot rate a draft class after 1/2 season IMO.hmmm.... Still too early too judge this draft class but let's take a look at how they're doing so far:
- 1 (4): WR Marvin Harrison Jr., Ohio State - maybe underperforming slightly -will probably work out
- 1 (27): EDGE Darius Robinson, Missouri - unknown
- 2 (43): CB Max Melton, Rutgers - has shown promise - certainly not a bust yet
- 3 (66): RB Trey Benson, Florida State - not exactly setting the world on fire
- 3 (71): OT Isaiah Adams, Illinois - got some snaps against GB - is still a "maybe"
- 3 (82): TE Tip Reiman, Illinois - Chris's whipping boy - not his fault he was drafted so high!
- 3 (90): CB Elijah Jones, Boston College - on IR - has yet to record a tackle or anything
- 4 (104): S Taylor Dadrion-Demerson , Texas Tech - hmmm... probably overperforming so far
- 5 (138): EDGE Xavier Thomas, Clemson - healthy scratch in recent weeks - can't beat out Okwara?
- 5 (162): OT Christian Jones, Texas - IR
- 5 (191): WR Tejhaun Palmer, UAB - practice squad
- 7 (226): CB Jaden Davis, Miami - practice squad i think
If (big if) Robinson and Harrison meet expectations, all will be forgiven for 2024, especially if Benson comes around, and we also get a solid starter out of Melton, Adams or TDD.
I think most of the time you make your own luck in life, but MO sure isn't getting any love from the football gods with all the injuries.
Sucks for everybody but we have to stay cool.
2023 | 1 | 1 | 6 | 6 | Paris Johnson | T | Ohio State |
2 | 2 | 10 | 41 | BJ Ojulari | LB | Louisiana State
3 | 3 | 9 | 72 | Garrett Williams | DB | Syracuse
4 | 3 | 31 | 94 | Michael Wilson | WR | Stanford
5 | 4 | 20 | 122 | Jon Gaines | G | UCLA
6 | 5 | 4 | 139 | Clayton Tune | QB | Houston
7 | 5 | 33 | 168 | Owen Pappoe | LB | Auburn
8 | 6 | 3 | 180 | Kei'Trel Clark | DB | Louisville
9 | 6 | 36 | 213 | Dante Stills | DT | West Virginia |
FTFY I mean, backups in name only--there is nothing to crow about with any of those backups save for Dante Stills. Qualified as in they are on the roster and thus backups? That's about it. Also, we have an injured edge. Talented is being overly generous. I'm cautiously optimistic about Garret Williams, but not ready to name him a rising star. I agree on PJJ and MW.You cannot rate a draft class after 1/2 season IMO.
How about looking t last season:
2023 1 1 6 6 Paris Johnson T Ohio State 2 2 10 41 BJ Ojulari LB Louisiana State 3 3 9 72 Garrett Williams DB Syracuse 4 3 31 94 Michael Wilson WR Stanford 5 4 20 122 Jon Gaines G UCLA 6 5 4 139 Clayton Tune QB Houston 7 5 33 168 Owen Pappoe LB Auburn 8 6 3 180 Kei'Trel Clark DB Louisville 9 6 36 213 Dante Stills DT West Virginia
You have a top 10 OT, a potential rising star at CB, a starting WR, atalented but injured edgeand5 qualified back-ups.
That pretty damn solid
Citation neededa talented but injured edge

In case anyone was wondering, Cardinals won their third game last season in Week 13.

What is your takeaway from this fact?Perspective is an amazing drug.
