No way will he want to play of Vet Min. Especially for a team like the Cardinals.
then... we can say he is not worth a look. I orginally posted my opinion because people were saying we should not even give the guy a look... I say what can it hurt? if he wants the farm then I tell him to take a hike.

I thought the rule was that after a player has so many years of service, they immediately become a free agent and do not go through the usual channels of waivers

I don't think so....I'm scanning the CBA now, but haven't found anything that says what the process is one way or the other as of yet.

My legal speak isn't what it used to be, but from what I can tell, players with 4 years of service who are released between Feb 1 and the trade deadline (first week of October last year) are not subject to the waiver system.

So you are correct, Hugh Douglas is a free agent, able to sign with any team he wants.

I will have to wait and see on douglas, but what is killing me is when people say that KVB will be more productive. There is no evidence that KVB will be a more productive player even though we all would love that. I know he is a great person and a hard worker, but there is nothing to support that idea based on his career so far.

Clif, you don't think that KVB would get more than 3.5 sacks if he played in all 16 games? With KVB you know that he will give you 100% on every play. Now if we could just keep him healthy.

I just saw on a Philadelphia station that he is returning to the Eagles!

Didn't catch the deal, but there seems to be alot of incentives involved. The reporter said that the only thing left is to see if he gets his number 53.

Douglas signed for 850,000 but with incentives the deal could be as high as 3.2 mill. Its only for one year. I'm surprised he went back to philly.
