I hate to say it, but the Cards FO really screwed up RE: ILB/ DWaste situation.

I agree the FO should have had a better plan in place. I have said in the past that this FO and the previous regime, for that matter, lack foresight in many instances. Even if the substance abuse deal was a total blindside, they knew some kind suspension was more than likely coming from the criminal case. And for all we knew, that could have been a lengthy suspension. They should have picked up someone in FA if they didn't want to overpay for Dansby.

What the Hell is Wrong with Players from TCU?

Aside from hall of fame RB LT, it seems all the players from TCU are serious knuckle heads.:mulli:

honestly...why not? They had a contingency plan in place last season when they brought in Dansby and knew another suspension of some sort was coming down the pike this season for a non-pot related incident. there was a lot of smoke (no pun intended) circling around Washington for people not to prepare adequately for another fire. our ILB depth is atrocious right now and our starters are a rookie and a journeyman.

Can someone get Loyalty some of D Wash's weed so maybe he can calm down?

It cost DWash (DWeed?) about 3 million so it must be good stuff. :D

I will not calm down! I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it any more!!!! :D

yes he will be suspended for the court case next year. Assuming he gets reinstated into the league after this season is over.

Yep. Angry and disapppointed. Fans wait for their team to finally get to a talent level to actually be the best in the league. Had that hope for our D this year.

Thought over your initial challenge for this thread. The only thing I think the Cards may have done differently would have been to pursue either Shazier or Mosely in the draft---both LB would have eased the loss of DW. Can't imagine the Cards anticipated another drug bust but instead a few games for the abuse plea. Of course, we would have lost draft picks to move up and may not have a promising SS either. Foote was the contingency plan---not sure if there was another healthy ILB out there for the Cards to sign at a reasonable price.

But you are right to be angry. I also wanted to see Cards D make it to #1 in the league and lead the Cards into the playoffs and SB.

What if he failed the test after they picked up his option? Should the team hire prophets to predict the future?

Would the prophets be better than the scouts, GM, and coaches they already have hired to predict the future? If so, I'm all for it. :)

what if he failed the test 3 weeks ago? Do you still hate the FO?

I dont blame anyone but washington.

BASK should be able to predict the future. Period.

For example in week 4 a starter is going to get injured in the 2nd quarter, but I dont see them doing anything about it today, do you???;)

A person's past behavior is a pretty good indicator of future behavior in most cases; especially with drug abusers.

No proactivity whatsoever. This is completely unacceptable with zero contingencies in place. What a sham...

Really don't think you "hate to say it". Countless post from you suggest otherwise.

Having said that BASK may have put to much faith in D-Weeds' word there was no way we should or could have paid Los what he got from the Browns. The fact that Minter was a BPA taken a year ago shows some forward thinking IMHO. Heck they even signed Foote before this news came down.

Losing D-Weed hurts and most fans our angry about it but too many are lashing out at the wrong people. D-Weed deserves the hatred (and pity IMO) not the FO.

I was told after the Cards had drafted Washington that there was a good chance that he'd trouble down the road. Of course this is from a team that spent a top 10 pick on Justin Blackmon and he can't stay clean either.

I don't blame the Cards for Washington. You take chances on talent. Sometimes it works out and sometimes you drafted a highly talenetd pothead that can't stay on the field like Darryl Washington.

I tried, unsuccessfully, to find a couple articles I read in 2010 that explained that his contract wasn't as good as similar ILBs because there were these kinds of risks. I didn't pay it much mind then, but now I wish I had. Was something like his guaranteed $ was much less due to risks of him screwing up
