The Vikings know that green wants Bennett, and has since the beginning of Fa. But they are trying to squeeze him like we are trying to squeezethe bills for Shelton. But by saying we are open to Alexander and James the Vikes might come down on the asking price for Bennett. Just a theory. Btw call me crazy but my guit tells me that Bennett is the best option for this offense. And I really don't like the guy? Maybe it's b/c he's the cheapest of the 3 and That would leave money for quan and another ufa.

Ok you're crazy. :D You do know that if Bennett has good season for us he will command a lot of money the following year? I like James over Bennett since he can block and catch the ball and aside from the acl tear James has produce and Bennett only has one good year.

How do we know that he really wants Bennett? Why take a risk on a guy who is so often injured? He has had one 16 game season in his career (and managed 1296 yards and 5 TDs--THREE years ago).

I wouldn't touch him personally and wouldn't be too thrilled if we got him. IF we do happen to make the mistake to trade for him I wouldn't give up a first day pick (well maybe that last pick in the third round we got from NE) and we had better draft a RB on day one just in case...because we can't count on him or Shipp coming off a serious leg/ankle injury and the idea of Hambrick being our starter kinda bothers me.

Bennett would fill half the bill. We would still need to take a rb in the second round like Fason,Arrington or Morency. We could go into next season with just him as our "speed" back. With his history of injuries it would fool hearted to do so.

To me, Bennett is too injury prone to even consider. RBs take a lot of damage when they play. He's proven more than once that his body can't take the punishment. I don't care how fast he is or how good he is, if he's not on the field, he's not an improvement.

I think the trading of Starks should give everyone the correct idea that one of the main attributes that Green likes is durability. Since Bennett doesn't have that, I just don't think Green would consider him. He's too much of a risk for not enough reward.

So, we will carry 4 Hb's on the roster? I don't see that happening...Shipp and Hambrick are definitely in...we will only have room for 1 more.

I don't know that I would put "Definitely" next to ANYBODYS name with Denny running the show.

I guess one of the reasons I see us making a trade is if Minnie goes out and signs plaxico then they don't need to take a Wr in the 1st round, then they will probably take a rb and with Miami , Tampa , Chicago alraedy rumored to be taking a rb and only 3 NFl star rbs avaiable in the 1st. We would be without a star back. Yes there are other good backs in the draft but with quetion mrks about shipp and we don't know if they paid Hambrick in White castle burgers which would mean he'll come in over weight again , we need to make sure we have a NFlL ready back!

A wise man once said -

When the team you're trading with has a huge cap balance and you don't, they have you by the short hairs.

For this reason, I seriously doubt Dennis is "playing" the Vikes. The Vikes simply can buy their way out their problems (if in fact they view an overabundance of RB's as a "problem."

As for Bennett - I haven't seen him play during the past 3 years. Assuming all of the following guys are equally "brittle" - Has Bennett looked substantially better than Shipp, Hambrick or Anderson during that period?
