I've never seen a family member potentially kill the draft stock and endorsement money from an athlete as much as this guy has for his son.

The fact that Nike, Adidas and Under Armor are all staying from this maniac family means the Suns (and every other team in the top 5) probably should too.

They're not staying away because of the player, but rather, dad is insisting on co-branding Big Baller Brand. Nike, UA, and Adidas would get into a bidding war to sign Ball without this BBB madness.

It's getting harder to separate the father from the player with all this hoopla. Who is to say it ends when Lonzo gets drafted?

If it persists I can see him sliding a spot or two. Maybe this works out if the Lakers do not draft #1 or #2.

The only thing the shoe deal has done is create space between Ball and Fultz now on team's big boards. If Ball was ranked ahead then he's probably slipped behind but if Fultz was placed ahead then he probably has a player or two in between him and Ball now. I'd be shocked if he fell any farther than 5th though.

I'd like to see the Lakers have to send their pick to Philly if only to see how Lonzo and Lavar take that. I can't wait for the lottery to take place. I've been enjoying the playoffs so far but without any awards being announced until June and the lottery taking place May 16th there is a lot of nothing happening in between games.

I pray to the gods for the Lakers to draft this kid. When the Lakers aren't winning games, I can guarantee you that Lavarr will go publicly bashing Magic Johnson and Luke Walton and the Lakers will be in even more chaos.

Unfortunately, the suns are the team with bad luck so I'm guessing we draft Ball and then his dad ******* and whines here and we all end up hating Ball and his family. In the meanwhile, Booker gets pissed off in the process and demands trade out or walks when he hits RFA (asking the Suns to not match).

I'm hoping McDonough is able to ferret this problem out.

Maybe the Suns draft Lonzo for another team like the Lakers (maybe swapping picks) and getting some nice asset in return plus the player they want.

Let the Lakers fall on their own sword. LOL

if anything, I think this is going to be a massive wake-up for Lonzo. It makes his father look TERRIBLE and is going to hurt LONZO'S wallet. He won't say anything about it publicly, but you know he has to be shaking his head to himself.

Nothing the Dad does will hurt the evaluation of him as a player and I think everyone in the league knows that whatever bush league crap he tried to pull in college will merely be laughed at on the pro-level.

Should all the Ball children flame out I know who daddy Ball will not blame...

I've never seen a high profile athlete with a more cancerous parent... not even close. If not for LaVar I'd be genuinely excited to get Lonzo, I'd really debate on if I want him or Fultz more. Instead I'm sitting here basically rooting for the Ball's to fail, even though Lonzo seems like a nice kid, just so I never have to hear LaVar's BS again.

The thing is we'd all put up with Ball for the right price. If we got fourth or fifth pick and Ball was available....?

Let's just hope we get first pick

Has there ever been a player in any of the major US sports that carried the family baggage Lonzo is right now? I know there have been plenty of athletes with troublesome families but what would be considered the second worst case or the worst case of someone's family carrying that much negative baggage while they're trying to go pro? I can't think of another instance where someones family was so overly confident and positive in regards to them becoming a pro, it's usually negative baggage somewhat similar to how Amare's mom caused him some problems due to her legal and financial troubles. LaVar's mouth is writing checks that his son will have a hard time cashing.

Lonzo Ball is 19 years old. It's time for him to grow up and tell his dad to **** off.

His dad got his Lonzo's high school coach fired, his dad wouldn't let him see his mom in the hospital and now his dad is ruining his endorsements.

If Lonzo continues to be a push over like this then he won't survive in the NBA all that long. Even if Lonzo doesn't have the balls for it, I hope at least his younger brothers are able to see the harm that their father is doing for them.

The fact that we are even talking about Lonzo sliding because of his father is telling... even if Ball does not slide at all.

The father should not be the focus but he is making it an issue. If there is a player there with near equal talent, the other player may get the nod.

Don't know if there is a bottom line to all this. It's just too complicated.

Ball is going to have to play his guts out if he wants big money endorsement deals. Whatever team drafts him that's what he's facing.

The more I hear this stuff the more I think he is going to the Lakers to be their Renaissance (resurgence) man.

Father must be counting on Hollywood showtime.

I'm tired of some people trying to split them (Chriss and Bender) up and talk one of our very young and inexperienced rookies down. All three of them will be back next season and I'm looking forward to seeing what improvements they've made. I hope they'll be solid contributors for years to come, or trading chips if McD finds a star. The future is bright.

I cannot wait for the younger ball to come to the NBA. The Suns could possibly have two Balls!

(One year the Chargers did have two Balls on the team!)

If we fall to 5th = riot

I basically guarantee we fall atleast 1 spot. 5th is a real possibility.

The Lottery is 100% rigged, and the Suns are going to get screwed. No matter what happens, we will pick after the Lakers... Book it.

There are way too many people involved to fix the lottery and if it was ever proven it would be an epic disaster and embarassment for the league.

and yet, it will happen. The slimy clutches of David Stern reach out from retirement to fix the lottery with his frozen ping pong balls or whatever. The Lakers will keep their pick, and the Suns, with the second worst record, will fall just past the ability to draft anyone who can help them.
