Friend pointed this out to me

PHOENIX SUNS
Players they might lose: Steven Hunter, Joe Johnson (R), Jake Voskuhl

Players they might pursue: Samuel Dalembert (R), Vladimir Radmanovic, (R), Raja Bell, Nikoloz Tskitishvili

Current cap position: $45.7 million ($3.8 million under the cap)

Analysis: Priority No. 1 for the Suns is re-signing Joe Johnson. They've already made one drastic move this summer (sending Quentin Richardson and their No. 1 pick to New York for Kurt Thomas), proving that they'll do what they can to keep him. Johnson will likely get big offers elsewhere, but at the end of the day, it looks like the Suns are prepared to match. The Suns also want Hunter back, but won't overspend to get him.

The Suns have other lofty ambitions, including landing a shot-blocker like Dalembert or sweet-shooting small forward like Radmanovic. To get either guy, they'd have to work out a sign-and-trade. It appears that Shawn Marion, once again, will be the trade bait.

As far as their mid-level exception, the Suns agreed to spend most of it on swingman Raja Bell Friday.

This must be a typo. It should read, "It appears that Shawn Marion, once again, will be grounds for another baseless rumor by the sporting media."

Why would the team Trade Marion for Radmanovic?

they're high on Peyote? That one makes no sense.

I could somewhat understand if they made that deal for Dalembert (although really busting up the team after one season seems a bit drastic) - at least the risk you take there could be buttressed by a HUGE reward, but Radmanovic? That's just lunacy.

is this guy national? becuase I am surprised we are not rumored to send Amare for Cleveland for a #2 pick in time for some national east coast media Lebron circle jerk.

I agree, Delembert would at least fill a center need, EXCEPT we trade Q for KT already. If we trade Marion for Delembert, then we don't NEED to trade Q! Marion's salary would allow us to have Delembert and Q plus a little cap relief. That ship has sailed.....

I'm not questioning you, just pointing out the original author doesn't seem to make sense to me!

I'm sure the Phoenix Suns would love to get Dalembert. I don't think Philadelphia would make that deal. I'm not so have a hard time believing the Suns would do it this summer. They've already made enough changes to this team. If they were to trade Shawn Marion the fans would be pretty upset, and I know it. For several years now the biggest fan complaint about the Phoenix Suns has been that they never give the fans long enough with any one group of players. I haven't had much or any problem with most of their trades, but I can understand how the casual fan and even a good number of the diehards would feel that way.

I'm not even going to comment on the Radmonovic rumor.

Everyone forgets when we maxed Marion, none of the guys we have now where here. He was our Amare at the time. I think at this point in his contract, the Suns let him play it out, and if he's still producing, hope to sign him for a lower amount since he will be older and hopefully we will be winning NBA tiltles which would be an incentive to play for less.

The only way I would do the deal is if some crazy 3 team trade happened where we got both Radmonovich and Dalembert.

Well, here is my best shot. I am not to happy with it from the Seattle side - but who knows.

Sternfucious say, "Team that look good on paper somtime ONLY look good on paper."

Why does everybody want to blow up a team that won 62 games last year. Sure they needed to make some minor adjustments if they want to get past SA and I don't have a problem with the Q for KT trade especially now that it is coming out that Q was a clubhouse problem but do we need to make major changes?

I think KT, Bell and another solid free agent pick up will be enogh to get past SA.

Only problem is I'm not sure it will be enough to get past Golden State.

I think Golden State is going to be very tough next year. I've been saying that injuries may eventually stop that team. They look like a good group though. That's what drafting in the lottery for the last 15 years will do. Eventually they ended up with a good group.

I think even without Hunter this team is already improved. I don't think the Suns will win 62 games again, but I do think they will battle for one of the top spots in the Western Conference. More importantly they'll be stronger in the playoffs. If they can just sign a couple veteran big men and/or find a young gem in free agency they will be in great shape.

They've added a couple of role players who are significantly better than what will be leaving on the boards and defensively without surrendering anything offensively. They may have even become more efficient offensively.

I am not all for blowing up the team.....

I was just playing around with the rumor that was posted.

Problem is that these are not "rumors", they are columnist bull****. Not one Marion for Dalembert suggestion ever has even the slightest hint of coming from a team insider of either team. It is all just speculation and not well grounded speculation at that.

I'm suprised I haven't read much talk about him being on the list for the Suns, although with limited playing time, I'm not sure anybody knows his game that well...

We saw him with the Nuggets a few years ago and ther is little evidence that he's improved.
