Going into the offseason, the Cardinals' top two quarterbacks were poised to count $14.175 million against the salary cap. But after a flurry of moves -- releasing Kevin Kolb and John Skelton, signing Drew Stanton and trading for Carson Palmer -- the Cardinals will save $2.46 million in cap space with their new top two quarterbacks, reports Brian McIntyre of Yahoo! Sports.

So our major upgrade is cheaper than the garbage we had, how awesome is that?

Props for sure but lets be honest, Palmer fell into his lap a bit.

I disagree. Palmer became available and he jumped all over it. He easily could have waited for him to released, but he didn't even chance letting him get to make a choice on the open market.

The other point is that many "experts" were saying Palmer we be cut due to his salary for quite awhile now so it's not unthinkable that Keim & co. thought this could happen.
