Some guy over on KFFL, who lives near San Diego said that XTRA sports 690/1150 just reported that Denny Green stated he wants to work out a trade with the Chargers for the #1 pick.....he also said that the Steelers wish to do the same and that they have/will offer Jason Gildon.

Not sure if this is some kid making crap up, or the radio station is just spreading a rumor, but it sure as hell would be nice. Haven't heard anything locally though.

Trading to number 1 and having our player signed prior to the draft, what a novel idea!!!

The first of many, many rumors we'll hear. I think it'd be a stunner if we traded up. But then, I thought we would not hire a name coach like Dennis Green too.

This worries me for some reason.
I don't want to trade up. I'd rather trade down, go with McCown, draft Taylor, build the lines and then focus on getting the best RB and best MLB possible.
Run and stop the run.

I heard the Eagles may send a draft pick to the Niners for T.O.

The only reason I can think of to trade up to #1 would be for Manning or Fitzgerald. Why?

If they are going to send Jason Gildon, they better think twice. Why the hell would the chargers trade out of the #1 for picks and Gildon? Heck he is prob their 3rd maybe even 4th best LB....

Plus I can't see the Chargers moving out of #1 to go down to #11. The Steelers would need to offer Gildon / #1, and #2 this year and #1 next year based on /w Gildon

Chargers #1 Pick 1St Round 3000 PTs

Steelers #11 Pick 1st round 1250 Pts
Steelers #43 pick 2nd Rd 470 Pts
Steelers #1 Next year 750 Pts ?
Jason Gildon = 500 Pts ?? I doubt it

Whomever the Chargers are targeting, they should be able to get at the #3 selection. Obviously if they are entertaining offers to move out of the 1st pick, they don't want a QB.

If we trade up, the amount that we would have to play will make the vikings win the single most stupid thing a franchise has done to set itsewlf back a decade.

Will make the walker trade look like childs play.

Dude, how many times are you going to bring that up? The players get paid to win and that's what they did? Should all teams out of the playoff race just lay down? That would make for an exciting league wouldn't it?

Let it go, man.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't TO still have to void his contract? I have heard he could wait until AFTER franchise players are named to do it and avoid the tag..... not sure if there is any truth to it.

Hey renz its not my fault if you are allergic to common sense. Blame your parents not me.

No way in hell is the price to move up worth it. Take Taylor if ben and eli are gone, or fitz or green but dont sell your future for a chance.

Trading up to #1 is the single dumbest move an NFL team can make.

I still will wager that Oakland is so enamored with Fitzgerald that one of the two QB slides. In fact I've seen interviews where Davis said if Fitz is there (because at the time his eligibility was in question) he'd be a Raider. Remember, he may be old, but they still have Gannon, Tuiososopo looked decent and Mirer seemed to be managable. Brown and Rice have slid farther than a Mili Vanilli Single. I could see Fitz going #2 and we get our QB.

No need for personal attacks! More than a few people are tired of hearing a "fan" complain because the team won a game....get a grip, its over and done with.

Don't put quotes around the word fan as if to imply that the dude is not a fan of the team. All of us are fans, or else we wouldn't be here gutting it out year in and year out with this franchise. Just because someone has a different idea about what would be/would have been better for the franchise in order to win without giving up things doesn't mean he or she is any less of a fan. You decry personal attacks yet make one with your choice of quotation marks in just two sentences.

Yes, it is the past, and yes, there is no changing it. I however, find it sad that we won that game...especially if we trade up. I don't think we should ever lay down, but the Cards put up more effort in the final two minutes of that game than they did in 90% of their road games, and that upsets me to the core. It was, hopefully, the last time the Cards did something that ultimately hurts them for a long long while.

Bring on the winning, bring on the packed stadiums.

But don't bring on the subtle jabs at other fans who simply feel differently than you about how to get there.

Because I was responding to Ryan's post that he since deleted, and I wanted to emphasize what I wrote without retyping it.

Why did you roll your eyes? Why did the chicken cross the road?

Actually, he did. He responded saying he wasn't making a personal attack by quoting the word "fan." He then went on to say that he didn't feel a fan ever wanted their team to lose...which is his right. But it didn't change the fact that he was making a dig, so I reposted what I wrote.

Jeez...

Edit: And the reason you didn't see his post is because....he deleted it.
