All of the jabs at the FO are pretty silly considering they put together the current NFC Champions. They have a plan and they will stick to it. I doubt their big sinister scheme is to go 3-13 next year. But alas people will always complain about the FO and them being cheap. This proves that even if they win a ring people will still complain.

Another salient point...this front office clearly demands total respect...seriously, how long have you been a Cardinals fan? In case you hadn't noticed, the Cardinals have been the poster child for incompetent franchises for about the last 60 years. They have one unlikely run to the super bowl (mostly due to Warner and the offense) and apparently they are beyond reproach.

The fact they haven't signed him to the idiotic 29 million 2 year deal inspires me along with the fact that maybe they are finally giving the keys to Leinart.
Nobody is talking about giving him 29M. 13M this yr. with an option next yr. might put us back in the ball game. If not see ya. They (FO) have to put a viable offer back in play though.

Michael Smith said the Cards offered 22 over two with 12 guaranteed. That is pretty much the same deal.

Again...the Super Bowl run was due mainly to Warner. Another salient point. You are causing the value of my ASU degree to fall faster than the value of my house.

Warner is back to the 49ers' facility now after taking his physical at Stanford.

"Warner spoke with Mike Singletary already. Then, he went to get his physical at Stanford. He just arrived, and apparently is speaking with GM Scot McCloughan right now. --Matt M."

No decision will be mad today according to agent. Not a slam dunk for the 49ers if they have to think about it.

Some Scenerio's

1. They used the 49ers? Which I hope isnt the case becasue we as Cardsfans know exactly how crappy that is.
2. Are supposed last minute increase made him think about it one more day or at least give us one more shot?
3. The 49ers did offer more money but they need a day to sleep on it to see if the pay increase warrants the change.
4. They want to visit this second team that his agent wont name.

The super bowl run was mainly due to Larry Fitzgerald making ridiculous acrobatic catches again and again. Many of those passes under thrown.

would you rather sign Warner or sign Q, AW, and Dansby to long term contracts. Think about it.

If everyone around the league has so much faith in Warner then why are the 49ers the only team pursuing him?

Yea and it has nothing to do with Warner's strong arm, accuracy, quick release and decision making ability. Without Warner, you guys lose the two 49ers games, real talk. Warner had contant pressure in his face the 1st game in SF but he kept making play after play to kill us. Leinart would've never made those same plays Warner did against the 49ers.

You just want Warner to stay here because you are a 49ers fan.

Yup, i love what the 49ers is doing because it's a win win situation for us. It puts you guys in a bad situation with or without Warner back. Although i would rather have him back with you guys for 14 mil./year ;) because i still have faith in Alex Smith.

I want our QB situation to be like this:

Smith/Hill/draft pick or Hill/Smith/draft pick.

Whoa, whoa, whoa....hold on. You just said in a previous post that we wouldn't have any success with Leinart but then you follow that up with saying you still have faith in Alex Smith? Matt has shown waaaaay more than Alex ever has.

way moreeeee? i think you are exagerrating there. Leinart was 4-7 his first season that ending with an injury and then his second season he had 2 TDs and 4 ints. That one also ended with an injury.

After his rookie year, Smith was 9-10 before his shoulder injury showing alot of promise under Norv Turner. Up until this day Turner still praises Alex Smith and thinks that all he needs is a chance to come back healthy. Turner turned Rivers into a top 5 QB so I believe his words over any other fan.

Why? I think Smith's time has run out in this league.

I want our QB situation to be like this:

Smith/Hill/draft pick or Hill/Smith/draft pick.
The sooner Alex Smith is cut the happier I will be.
I would like to see a combo of Hill/Sanchez/Garcia

So Graves gets credit for helping us win the games, but Kurt doesn't?

Seems kinda strange to me.

I'm basing my assessment of Leinart from actually watching him play here. He's had good moments and bad moments but there have most definitely been good moments for us to be excited about.

As far as Norv Turner turning Rivers in to a top 5 QB, as much I like him as an OC let's keep in mind that Rivers was a 4th overall pick and is supposed to be that good. He's not exactly some bum that Turner rescued from the scrap heap.

Also, how often do coaches not praise their players? Singletary ripped some guys as a motivational ploy but you don't see that very often. Coaches never say, "well, my player isn't that great but he's what we have so we'll deal with it." Even Josh McCown received praise when he was here. I'm sure George Seifert had nice things to say about Jim Druckenmiller when he was in San Francisco.

Great post Mitch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You hit all the nails on the head with that one.

Two points I want to emphasize are that (a) the Bidwills never spend all the way to cap limit, so whether they signed Warner for 10 per, 12 per or 14 per is really irrelevent. They would still have extra $$. (b) is what you said about the fallout from this. Does anyone remember the heat Billick and the Ravens took for letting go of Dilfer after the Ravens won the Super Bowl? They won becuase of their D and figured they didn't need him and when it was proven that they did the media DESTROYED the organization. We won in large part because of Warner. We are gonna be the first team to lose the SB and get picked by everyone to finish third/fourth in their division the following year.

You guys can try to defend the FO and say that Warner wanted too much, but nobody outside of this board thinks so and what else has Graves and Co. done to inspire you this offseason?

I agree with you. And this Mitch guy.

While I'm all aboard the soyanara Kurt train, it makes it just that much more miserable that our defense couldn't hold a lead in the biggest game of their lives for a little over two minutes.

Freaking Pendy...

did Clancy tell Francisco to fall down on Holmes' 40 yard play? Did he tell them to miss 2 sacks @ the 1-yd line on 1st and 20? Maybe the defensive players just weren't good enough to close the deal.

I don't think anyone on the planet is saying that at all. But there are some saying that the FO had nothing to do with it, and some go so far to say it was all on Kurt.

I happen to think Whis had the most to do with it of anyone. Kurt is just a cog..a good one, but a cog. Whis is the engine of this team.
