I was listening to a radio sports show on 910 and they were ranting about giving up Nash (and Finley) for Kidd, Kidd for Marbury and now back to Nash. They asked, why did the Suns go through that cycle, inferring that the Colangelos are idiots.

Yet here we are proposing to do the same sort of thing - trade away promising young players for someone who has a bigger rep. JJ isn't a star yet, so people are antsy to trade him for a "star". It seems to me that like with Nash, a little more patience would have saved a lot of messing around, and that Finley would be here too.

But Nash wasn't traded for Kidd.

We drafted Nash, and later in the summer traded for Kidd.

A few seasons down the road, we traded Nash for the Mavs first round pick. That wound up being Marion.

Actually we traded for Kidd in winter after that 0-13 stretch.

Even if the Suns had traded Nash for Kidd this would still be a stupid chain of logic.

Kidd was an emerging star, Nash was a rookie with some potential.

For every rookie like Nash that becomes really good there are 20 more that turn into HOWARD EISLEY.

We knew we had two starter type pgs and we couldn't afford both. We kept Kidd--the obvious choice, and traded Nash for an unconditional first round pick with turned out to be Marion.

I heard those idiots ranting. It would be nice if they knew a little about the team they are ranting about.

Finley for Kidd was a good trade.
Nash for Marion was a good trade.

I guess because both trades were with Dallas, they get them all mixed up.

We also had KJ & Kidd with Nash... We Traded Nash to dallas because he wanted a chance to start. The team respected his wishes & that had to help our chances when we wanted to sign him now...
