Oh yeah. Without a doubt. This is #1 for me too especially after his first couple starts (thanks again Neil Chokers).
He wouldn't make my top 10. Or, bottom 10, however you think of it.I hadn’t either.
Simmons may be the greatest disappointment I’ve ever had in a player. I was hopeful he was out luke keuchly. Yeesh.
Leinart just wasn't the same anymore after his collarbone injury.
I actually agreed with Mitch here on the play, but I understood why Thompson moved up to pick up Kelce. Woods tried to undercut Kelce's crossing route but Kelce suddenly broke his route and sit in the wide open middle field. Thompson saw that then decided to pursue Kelce and leave the deep right side uncovered. I believe the fault was either on Clark, or the miscommunication between Clark and Woods. Clark was apparently playing zone there and he should pick up Kelce on the crossing route but he played too shallow that Woods has to tail Kelce. If Clark played tighter to cut Mahomes' throwing lane to the crossing, Woods did not have to move to his right to cut the crossing then leave the middle field uncovered. Thompson might not need to move up but tail Kelce in case he runs a deep crossing. Further, Mitch was correct that Dimukeje should not have moved inside on his rush, 'casue he then left Mahomes uncontained on the right side with nothing in front of him but green grass. I am not sure if Clark was worried that Mahomes would just run for the first so he dare not to drop back deep. Anyway, Mahomes froze him for a second or two on that play.I thought it probably was not his coverage responsibility live (because I hope that Ralls has more sense than VJ). But I had no evidence it wasn't. Maybe the English teacher is right here.
He wasn't as good, I agree. That injury though gave him the Yips. That was in 2007 IIRC.
He wasn't good in 2006.
I had the same hope that he would become our Luke Kuechly.I hadn’t either.

That hope can t even make a dream come trueI had the same hope that he would become our Luke Kuechly.

hell....for a 7th round pick Mark Smith was a great player!Mark Smith.
We can go on for days like this. I’m happy to name all kinds of other terrible or dumb Cardinals players that for some reason my mind remembers.

Speaking of Smith's....Antonio Smith! 5th rounder who developed nicely in AZ, but then the Cards wouldn't pay him, so he went to Houston.hell....for a 7th round pick Mark Smith was a great player!
wendell bryant, robert nkemdiche, tommy knight, WadsworthSad but true.
However, the question is who was the biggest dissapointment of them all.
I thought Simmons was the right pick, still do.
Jonathan Cooper was the right pick in his draft as well.
They just didn’t work out. That happens.
If you're drafting positions of less importance (G and ILB obviously qualify), you cannot miss.
No - they can't. You can't miss at those positions. Cards missed twice. Missing on non-premium positions high in the draft is an absolute disaster.FYI....... Both of these posts can be true at the same time.
When the picks were made..... no one knew they were a miss. Armchair people may have made guesses, but no one knew it. The best player regardless of position was the pick in both cases. Unfortunately, the "Best Player" label is not only subjective, but technically, it's also a gamble you are making. No - they can't. You can't miss at those positions. Cards missed twice. Missing on non-premium positions high in the draft is an absolute disaster.
It would be hard to have more draft futility than Keim!Hopefully the people entrusted with making these decisions are better than Keim was.
If you want to be completely linear in the logic, then sure.No - they can't. You can't miss at those positions. Cards missed twice. Missing on non-premium positions high in the draft is an absolute disaster.
Remember his “I ain’t learned nothing about nothing” line after his contract holdout ended with him accepting the tendered offer? Good times.hell....for a 7th round pick Mark Smith was a great player!
It's not an absolute disaster. You're catastrophizing. The Cards went to the playoffs in Simmons' second season. The Cards won 10 games the season they drafted Cooper and 34 games over the three seasons he was with us.No - they can't. You can't miss at those positions. Cards missed twice. By continually missing on picks, especially high picks your roster is more reliant on overpaying FA's instead of retaining your own talent. It's not an absolute disaster. You're catastrophizing. The Cards went to the playoffs in Simmons' second season. The Cards won 10 games the season they drafted Cooper and 34 games over the three seasons he was with us.
It's obviously not what you want, and it's especially problematic if you go to the well over and over again. But it's not the end of the world.
