This sucks watching everybody else pursue guys and sign difference makers.

Here the Cardinals are with their thumb up their butt awaiting Peytons answer, and even if (or when) he declines AZ, we still wont have alot of cash to go get guys.

49ers signing guys. Rams are making out like bandits in the draft. Seattle has cash to burn on guys. I feel like everyone around us is improving and we are sitting stagnant.

This is how you go 6-10.

Again, I think we also have like 55 guys on the roster (well 54 now that Levi is gone). Some of these teams with big cap space also have a dozen vacant spots on their rosters. And teams like the Redskins just shot their wad on a single position.

Not sure they are really in a better spot than us.

Ok, this has to be the record for earliest "We are doing nothing in free agency, we suck" thread in ASFN history. Less than three hours after free agency began.

Congrats, Bodha!

Great job of beating the rush, Bodha. Are you heading out to do your Christmas shopping later today?

Because making big splashes in free agency worked so well for philly last year. And Washington every year. And the rams last season.

As opposed to the other years when we do have money and still don't sign anyone in the first 3 hours? Sigh.

Let's all get to our respective bridges and start jumping.

Yeah, this is a little ridiculous. Sure, we haven't heard any names of tackles yet, but Laurent Robinson is a valuable name, and we're bringing in guys for visits almost immediately. This is one of the first years I can remember where we've had guys in for visits on day one, much less guys coming into the facility minutes after free agency opened.

Yep. That means we weren't about the only team following the letter of the law when it comes to tampering. Bush and Schillens could only be here so fast if we called yesterday, at the latest.

Even if we had cap space.

Not too much the Cardinals need this year.

OL, WR, LB

What else ?

My offseason signing in both my offseason previews consisted of Jeff Backus, Byron Leftwich, and Trai Essex.

I'd rather have talent then cap space. Of course both would be nice but our front office would have to be able to re-sign our best players BEFORE free agency, and that is not going to happen.

We have 47 guys officially under contract.

...and we've already been linked to 3 guys on this forum alone, not to mention that Manning guy.

Yeah, for sure. Hell, there were many years we had a lot of money to spend and it was three to five days before we even had a VISIT.

Can someone tell me if the Cards have ever signed someone on the first day of FA? I'm just curious.

This is how you go 6-10.

People complain about this team when they have cap space and call them cheap and predict 6-10 seasons and then complain when they have the highest payroll in football and predict they'll go 6-10 for not going after players. Lol free agency started 3 hours ago.

jthom1: Tennessee guard Jake Scott visiting Arizona Cardinals on Wedsnesday.

Yeah, between him and the other FA's like Bush coming to town, we're doing nothing.

Just wanted to point out that the year the Cards had $30 million in cap space they went 5-11.

But I agree with those who say we really don't need anything other than Tackles and so there's no reason to rush out and sign anyone. Colledge agreed to terms with the Cards last year on July 28th. Anyone remember when the post lockout free agency started?

Wow, Bodha with a negative thread. I'm shocked !!! :sarcasm:

?

I havent made a negative thread in awhile. My last few have been speculative of players.

You guys are OK with waiting 3 or 4 days before going after guys? We did that last year too with the WRs and we wound up with Andre and Early.

The best go fast, thats why you need to jump in now. Cut all the fat (dont wait till we sign a guy and then cut to free up space) right now and go after Carl Nicks or Vincent Jackson. Cut Stewart and go after Tulloch, etc.

You should be upset when we are doing nothing right now because in 24 hours only the scabs will remain.
