oh come the F on. You KNOW I was talking about COACHING experience and if you DIDN'T, I don't know what to tell you... considering EVERYTHING I was talking about was in re: coaching.
I mean, seriously?? (see what I did there... that's the proper use of double question marks after an absolutely insanely stupid response ).
Cmon Russ you know hoops and football are two waaaaay different creatures. A single great basketball player can lift a program. Not the same with football.I don't know if he's good or not but I would point out Chris Beard has Texas Tech's basketball team at 13-1 with that one loss a very competitive loss to Duke where they led much of the game..
I agree it's harder to recruit there, but it is possible take lower rated recruits. He was actually sub 500 in the 2 years Mahomes was the starting QB.
That said, those 2 years they averaged 45 and 43 PPG so the part he'll be in control of with us, he was pretty good at in college.
Yeah, I know. Winning record, and success doesn't mean as much as getting on a hype train based on one nationally televised game.
But, hey, when the team goes 1-15 next year, I am SURE that will move the needle. LOL!

This is who the players are. College or NFL. Love it or hate it, it IS. Stuff like this whatever it looks like to the outside is pure gold inside.
Does anyone think Wilks has popped bottles in a club?
He will relate to players in ways many other coaches can't, both on and off the field, will command their attention, and I believe they are going to love him. In this way, think if Arians was in his 30's.

Agreed...He's Arians, if Arians had a chance to be a HC 30 years ago.

Between the name, avatar and this post I almost feel like this has to be trolling, but I'll bite... TTU games can be seen on TV and plenty of people have watched them play.
You cannot say dudes offense was awesome in B12 and that mean much anywhere else. They play B12 and the couple OOC are almost always scrubs. Avging over 500 ypg is nothing in special in the B12 just like giving up 500 ypg isn't crazy either.
So out of the entirety of football KK is only supplanted by Riley and TTU gave that up because the reason they sucked was the talent gap between them and the rest of the B12?
This whole thing seems like the classic case of someone no one was paying attention to and someone else shows some interest and suddenly everyone else is jockeying to get their attention.
I hope I'm wrong. I want another playoff run right now so I get swinging for the fences, but this is like a situation only Forrest Gump could fall into... Guy gets fired from TTU HC, goes to USC for one month as OC and now in HC in NFL, wtf? I mean really the only next logical end to the story is that he becomes the greatest HC of all time?
I wasn't excited by the Wilks pick but I was excited by the prospect of new blood. I thought he would come in and maintain status quo but improve the areas BA was so stubborn with to a fault and we would at least be treading water. Sorry, not falling into that trap again with SK putting together the roster, giving a B12 castoff at HC, and a QB that has shown no signs of life.
Once the Cards start winning is when I gleefully hop on KK bandwagon and off the fire Keim bandwagon.
Interesting segment with Cris Carter.
He compared KK to Denny Green (unsuccessful college coach) making the transition to Minnesota.
Green was 43 when he started with Vikings.
I don't know the answer...what made him a better NFL coach?

I think the big difference between Green and Kingsbury that stands out is that Green was an NFL assistant w/ the 49ers as well prior to being an NFL HC. Still I liked that segment w/ Carter, he was a doubter but after talking to football people he trusted he is warming up to the idea.

Read yesterday that a wideout, surname Williams, who caught 100+ balls with over 1000 yds gained was given his release by the Edmonton Eskimos so he could sign with the Cards.
I watched a Texas Tech produced clip of Kingsbury and he was talking how he spent time with the Dolphins and Broncos observing their training camps to try to learn some things. I think this was 2-3 years ago because Mahomes was still at Texas Tech, I wonder if he built a relationship up with any of those coaches from either organization while he was there.
Signed with Bills.
TJ with the good find.... lol
