Agreed. I'm approaching this with cautious optimism. There's plenty you can argue about with the hire, but you can't argue it isn't a swing for the fences. If nothing else, I like what that it gives the Rosen one a great chance to develop.
Yep we will know in 3 years if he’s the guy or time to draft a QB again, especially since it’s going to take at least 2 years to add 2-3 more quality WRs & Oline. Cross your fingers

I have watched 75 % of the KK coached Texas Tech games for the last 4 years. He electrified that fanbase. Even in the losses, with a bunch of 2* recruits they put on one helluva show. That stadium was a packed house every game. The only people in Lubbock who did not like the success rate were the "whale boosters", the same guys who ran Mike Leach out of town.

Hey someone with an opinion who actually watched the guy coach! I love the hire. KK is one of the premier up and coming offensive minds in football. Only topped by Lincoln Riley imo but he is staying in college. People would really rather have Caldwell or Taylor?

I understand the concerns but this is the best hire we could have made. This team will rally around this guy and start believing and having fun again. This team will be fun to watch again. And it could all go down in flames, but worst case scenario, we suck again and kiem is gone we start all over. It was inevitable this guy would start coaching in the nfl soon. Im just glad we are actually proactive for once.

What I'm thinking about our bringing in KK is that the threat of going deep is almost as important as actually going deep - because it frightens the defense and keeps it honest. Plus - one more dude in coverage = one less dude attacking Rosen. We lacked that aspect the past 1 - 2 years and it cost us.

In pro football, nothing is definite, but the Kingsbury option apears to be our best path to possible success.
Jeff that’s really the difference in KK Air Raid & the Leach Air Raid, more shots down the field & more vertical & deeper routes.

I’ve watched lots of Tech games over the years & while its somewhat energizing getting him, I’m also skeptical for reasons I’ve stated in other posts. Let’s hope Bidwill’s swinging for the fences pays off

Me thinks he will attract more decent coaches than you think.

Why worry about his staff until you’ve actually seen it.

Last years staff was full of sucky NFL experience.

Hell no! Draft some young high-mid round kids!

Harry-could come into play with a trade late BACK into rd 1 maybe rd 2

Jordan Humphrey-hes going to be a beast & better NFL player

Marquis Brown-maybe a 2nd round steal. Gamebreaker but small

Plenty more, the Buckeyes have some studs as well

We can’t draft an entire team .it looks like defense early in the draft. We Don’t know if fitz is coming back. Also a couple of experienced wr should help Rosen. Williams is a big receiver . Beasley is quick and smart . Kirk of course will be in the mix. No problem with Harry , but we can’t be sure he’ll be there. If he is , great. Now add fitz back into the mix and suddenly our wr Corp goes from piss poor to damn respectable AND experienced. I think we go oline in round 2 and Get us a guard like Ramon Foster (Steelers) suddenly our oline is a bit more formidable. Still need to add a Te and the air raid offense might start to take shape.

Dude sounds legit; his reported info squares with what subsequently went down. I you buy it, be on the lookout for a pricey, high profile DC (Note - I have no clue who that might be).

100%. This is the guy that broke the story.

After this the story started heating up.

Williams & Beasley are just guys that are a dime a dozen.

Again I’m not saying draft 3 early rounds receivers but they better add 2 in the top 4 rounds to give Rosen some weapons. Talent does matter especially when you’re going 3-4 wide most plays. I still don’t think TE will have a major role in his Air Raid, he didn’t even have them on his roster the last few years at Tech. Maybe it will be tweaked

I just like the thought of experience for the wr Corp. we watch Rosen begging receivers to come back on routes late in the season. Obviously there are several different ways to put this puzzle together. I would just hate to hold this new offense back because of inexperienced wr’s.

Uh... I could be wrong, but, Taylor never got drafted by an NFL team and never played a down in the NFL. Klingsbury was at least a 6th round pick by the Pats in '03 and while very tiny, has some playing time in the NFL... as well as NFL Europe and the CFL.
Come on if you didn’t understand he meant nfl coaching experience I don’t know what to tell ya.

oh come the F on. You KNOW I was talking about COACHING experience and if you DIDN'T, I don't know what to tell you... considering EVERYTHING I was talking about was in re: coaching.

I mean, seriously?? (see what I did there... that's the proper use of double question marks after an absolutely insanely stupid response :D).
