I like that the defense "blew" the Seattle game. I have seen that stated by several posters. Its like if the Cards have a lead at any point of the contest, if they eventually lose that game... the defense blew it.

For the time being, it's about who's the best of the bunch. This would include 2012 unless Andrew Luck somehow falls into our lap, because for all intents and purposes, it'll be Kolb and Skelton on the roster next season and this discussion will never end. That's why I proposed a fair competition next TC.

Also, you can use the words "Controversy" and "Cards Managed" for virtually every position and coach on this team, as Rod Graves is the King of Controversy.

Wow. I couldn't disagree more. We have the ingredients for a terrific defense over the next 4-5 or more years. I can't remember the last time the Cards had this many talented young players that they drafted or signed as UDFAs on the same team.

Weren't you one of the ones critical of the linebacking corp and the DC hire (serious question, I don't remember)?

I somewhat agree with you in that respect, except we need some depth at CB and OLB and need to re-sign Campbell. Otherwise, in recent weeks, it has proven what it is capable of doing.

does not change the fact that Graves is a bum.

I hated the DC hire too, but he has won me over. At the start of the year the LBs we were using did not work at all with his blitz schemes, they were taking way too long to pressure the QB. But with the younger LBs starting to get PT and proving they can handle it and Adrian Wilson playing over the middle and in the box instead of having to run coverage, the defense has looked much better.

Also its worth noting that Kolb not only had a healthy Beanie to get him a huge portion of the Cardinals scoring, but he also had tight ends.
Maybe things were opened up for Wells because teams were worried about the passing game at the beginnng of the year and you are really strecthing for the TE argument. Jeff King had one of his best games of the year with 4 catches against Philly. Housler and Dray have a combined 9 catches on the year and Heap has had 1 significant game where he caught 6 balls.

The botton line is points produced and Skelton hasn't produced the points like Kolb did, not to say that Kolb was some point producing machine, just that the offense production was greater when he was the QB. That fact can't even be argued.

Correct. Several of us were critical of the Cards having three of their 4 starting LBs be 34 years old. A group of Haggans,Lenon,DWash, and Porter was nothing to be excited about.

With Bradley starting to show up we have a future group of Acho (23),Bradley(28),DWash(25) and Schofield(24). Nowhere near as bad as the group of QBs we're looking at.
