You know I'm probably going to forget and use that word again. I have a thing for it. :p

Years ago, it was one of the five words most often used to assess educational levels. It's use has become so prevalent though that it probably won't be long before it becomes standard. I suspect refudiate won't be far behind it but I'm actually looking forward to that one gaining acceptance. As long as we don't have to pay royalties to Sarah Palin for it.:)

Where was "it's" on that list?

And now we need to find a way to get a Josh Smith, Tyrus Thomas, or Taj Gibson....

I'd love to find a way to get Josh Smith. I really wouldn't care who we had to give up. We need a marquee player and we're not likely to find one in the draft anytime soon. At least not until we trade our former marquee player.

Like this trade a lot. Get rid of Hedo and his horrible contract and get a decent big man. Gortat/ Lopez is actually a pretty decent Center tag-team.

I like Pietrus a lot. He is a very good defender, and a good shooter as well. I really like J-Rich, and it sucks to lose him, but he was going to be gone next year anyway.

Not sure about Vince. I don't know how much he has left in the tank. Are we going to try to move him? I would much rather let Pietrus, Chilli, and Duds fight for the starting shooting guard spot.

Carter is done. What is exciting to me is that we can look for a starting caliber 2 in the draft next summer. You know how much easier it is for a guy like that to fall to us than a big guy?

Lets trade for Josh Smith and pick up a young buck 2 in the draft and then we can focus on a replacement for Nash after that.

Good trade for Suns.

Hypothetically, had they signed Amare to NYK's contract, and Warrick, but not Frye/Childress, and did the Turko trade, we'd have the lineup

Lopez/Amare/Hill/Carter/Nash with bench Gortat/Warrick/Dudley/Pietrus/Dragic.

I believe this lineup with an improved Amare as his Knicks play indicates and semi-healthy Nash would have had a real chance to beat the Lakers in WCF. Well, we had to consider not to lose 20 mil 4 years from now in form of Amare's potential knee issue.

I think its a good trade for the Suns but I'm still sad to see JRich go. He had really grown on me during his time here.

Good luck in Orlando JRich.

Welcome to Phx to the rest of the new guys.

Look at the Suns official site. See link below. They have Gortat, Carter and Pietrus in the featured picture. It reminds me of the Vince Carter of old. Anyway, it gets the blood pumping.

I'd like the Suns to concentrate on getting a PG in the draft if they get Smith. SGs and SFs are the easier positions to replace and Nash is not getting any younger.

Any of you CBA experts know if Vince can be traded by the Suns any time now, or is there a waiting period?

Listen to the presser. Babby said the phones have been ringing off the hook with teams interested in picking up Gortat. I do think there is a 48 hour window or so in which to move a traded player. After that, its like a two month wait. Just before the trade deadline?

Dilemma, keep him because we are in dire need of some quality big men, or trade him and get another draft pick to throw towards the Hawks for Josh Smith!

Thank goodness I was always placed in accelerated English classes in high school and I had great secretaries to clean up my quick writing when I was at work. I wrote a lot of material that had to be fairly meticulous. Again I thank my secretaries. I can't remember a teacher worrying about my English in college. They seemed more worried about content. Now I make it all these years and I want to talk sports and posters are worried about English. I wish the rest of the country were as concerned about education.

I'd like to see what the Suns have in Gortat, but if Atlanta were to offer Smith for Gortat and Warrick, I think you have to take that.

In another thread a poster says Smith is pumping up too many 3's. I don't watch Smith much, but I do not want another Horry on the roster. I'm hesitant for the Suns to give up Gortat since Lopez seems injury prone.

Remember, these things can be looked up. We have the technology.

Smith is averaging 1.6 three-point attempts per game this season, and he's making 42% of them. Maybe he's not taking the ball to the basket enough -- that's harder to look up -- but taking an occasional high-percentage three-point shot isn't part of the problem.

Having said that, his rebounding numbers are less impressive than I would have thought, so maybe he's not such a great cornerstone after all.

We've already got an outside shooting, average rebounding PF in Frye. I think we should hold onto Gortat and see what he can do. I think when Babs was saying he was getting tons of calls about Gortat it was just to illustrate how well regarded the guy is around the league.

The bold part comes over a bit smug... just saying. However, I do appreciate you looking up the information.

Sorry, I wasn't intending to put you on the defensive here. I wasn't judging you or your educational background. I was having fun with you earlier and the tangent I went off on regarding the 5 words is in reference to academicians being polled back in the 60's and 70's. It means nothing in the scheme of things.

I understood what you were saying. I just wanted to add some context to the conversation. A lot of well educated people do not pay much attention to grammar.
