What have you heard Shane H?

This is from PFT. Now, remember this is a rumor site.

MAYWEATHER-WALKER RUMORS GATHER STEAM
Posted by Mike Florio on June 17, 2008, 8:10 p.m.
A league source tells us that there’s definitely talk among more than a few players of some potential connection between the face rearrangement suffered by Raiders receiver Javon Walker and boxer Floyd Mayweather.

Though the rumors don’t implicate Mayweather, the unfounded innuendo making the rounds on the web are that Mayweather and Walker were in a champagne bidding war at some point over the weekend, and that at some point thereafter one or more persons with ties to Mayweather came across Walker and proceeded to pound the living crap out of him.

Of course, it’s entirely possible that the rumors among NFL players trace to the Internet rumors, and not to anyone who knows anything about what happened.

As for Walker, it’s unknown whether he has said anything to anyone about what occurred. There’s a chance that Walker will opt for the “I don’t remember nothing” approach, if he has any concerns about possible retaliation.

Per media reports, Walker was robbed of $3,000 in cash and $100,000 in jewelry.

“He’s a guy that was in the wrong place at the wrong time,” Packers linebacker Nick Barnett told WBAY-TV in Green Bay. “I mean, it’s happened to him a couple of times now. He was just trying to go out and have a good time. It’s not his fault. It’s scary that that can happen to another individual.”

From earlier today.

CHAMPAGNE SPRAYING PRECEDED DARRENT WILLIAMS MURDER
Posted by Mike Florio on June 17, 2008, 1:02 p.m.
Maybe it’s a function of things being fairly slow right now in NFL circles. Regardless, the Javon Walker situation has created a major buzz on the Internet.

Then again, how often does a high-profile receiver turn up knocked out cold in the street after a weekend of spraying expensive champagne at one or more night clubs?

There are completely unfounded rumors (we repeat . . . completely unfounded rumors) that the incident started with a champagne bidding war between Walker and Floyd Mayweather, and that a member of Mayweather’s entourage later stumbled upon Walker and proceeded to beat him into a pulp.

Regardless, strong similarities exist between Walker’s most recent incident and the circumstances that preceded the shooting death of Darrent Williams. Here’s a quote from an August 11, 2007 AP item regarding an interview of Walker aired by HBO’s Real Sports: “[A]nother Broncos receiver, Brandon Marshall, and his cousin were partying with Williams’ group that night and began spraying champagne around, ’some of which hit a club patron and his friend, who confronted Williams and his entourage.’ Those men flashed gang signs and were escorted out of the club, said members of a rap group from Williams’ hometown of Fort Worth, Texas, who were with him that night.”

Apart from the question of whether the more recent champagne spraying and the subsequent cold-cocking are in any way related, we’d like to think that Walker would have sworn off champagne spraying given its role in the chain of events that resulted in Darrent Williams dying in Javon Walker’s arms.

When Walker explained to Andrea Kremer of Real Sports the reason for keeping his bloody shirt from that night, Walker said, “It’s just something that reminds me every day of what could happen and this is what happened to my friend.”

Maybe it takes a second bloody shirt to help Walker realize that nothing good ever comes from spraying champagne (or any other beverage) onto a group of people that might not necessarily want to be sprayed with it.

My sources are telling me that Mitch beat the living crap out of Walker when Walker threatened to disclose that he was the source of the Boldin/Crayton trade.

So, your argument is what exactly? He was asking to get robbed and beat up?
In essence, yes. When you go around flaunting your wealth by dousing people with expensive bottles of Dom and sporting an entire jewelry store on your person, there are bound to be a few hostile, jealous, people who are criminal enough to come up on loot.

I am not saying what happened to him is justified, but he has got to be smarter than that.

That is why I called him stupid for not havin either a body guard or at least a group of friend to watch his back...

Absolutely he was!
They were raining Dom?
The last time I checked on the bar price of Dom, and this was not even close to Vegas prices, was a good three fifty a bottle. Three hundred fifty dollars a bottle.
So i'm going to estimate that Vegas prices are Six Hundred dollars a bottle.

Wearing a hundred thousand dollars worth of jewerly?

Yeah he got rolled!

The disturbing thing is: his complicity that may come up regarding the spraying of Champange and Darrent Wiliams death.

Idiot pisses off criminals = beating. Sick society. I gave up on Vegas long ago. It used to be a fun destination. Many places used to be fun. Not so much anymore.

An old buddy of mine used to walk around with thousands of dollars worth of jewelery on him all the time (he sold Rolex's for a living); I, like the rest of his friends, were constantly telling him to A) not where such expensive crap and B) to not get drunk and flaunt it.

Eventually he found his way to Vegas and got rolled. He still wears the stuff though...

Jewelry says, " look at me, I have it and you don't ". What is the point? Now if they mug you for your shoes, that is real nasty.

Last Saturday night, as I sprayed the kids at my 10 year old son's birthday party with $6 a bottle Cook's champaign, I swear that some of them looked like they wanted to do me bodily harm. One of them was especially pissed off that I might have damaged his very rare "Pokémon" t-shirt.

However, I told the kids to "cool their jets" because I think that it is important for the kids to understand how things work here in Vegas, so that when they grow up they can become productive members of adult society, just like Mr. Walker.

that's why i wear my tattered jeans, ratty sneakers and threadbare t shirts in Mexico.
I grew up in a hood in which you WOULD get rolled for Air Jordans or whatever kicks were trendy.
To this day I know a couple characters that roll a fool displaying Rolex and such. Flaunt it - lose it.

i see both sides of the ledger here. if you've got the money to buy something, it's your right. it's not a license to be robbed. that's just letting hoods dictate your actions.

that said, the real world practicality of the situation is, if you're blinged you're a more likely target.

so do you take the morally high road and say you've got a right only to be rolled? or do you allow the thugs to dictate your life, but stay safe.

sucks either way i say.

all that said, dude was an idiot to spray anyone with anything. why is that ever cool? you win a championship, by all means, spray your teammates and the media. ends right there imo.

Radio commentary stated that the cost of the Dom was at 1,500 bucks per bottle!
