Calvin Pace sucked, and one of the best moves the Cardinals didn't make was not re-signing him to some ridiculous contract.

Not too impressive for what he was paid.

He didn't in his last season in AZ, when they finally found his true role. It's that year and his potential that got him the Jets contract. One of the side costs of the deal is that Dansby from day one said he wouldn't sign for less.

And he should have said it. He was a much better player than Pace was.

All in all losing most of these over priced FA's didn't hurt us too bad.

The if and when of cuts, restructurings, new deals is dictated by the opening date of the business season and CAP compliance at that point.

We didn't get around 4 to 5 sacks, and 35 to 65 tackles from our OLB'ers over the last few years ?

If I really want to fight about it, we can talk about how much better Sam Acho has been in the last two years in comparison to Calvin Pace.

Also, I never wanted to re-sign the guy when his contract was up. He was never that good, IMO. A complete bustola is more how I see it.

You're not going to get much argument from me on any of this. I was the guy who started a thread called "I Hate Calvin Pace" the day he was drafted, which he subsequently read or someone told him about, and then talked about when he left town. There's no question that he was a huge disappointment here (and the prototype for what happened with Alan Branch).

That said, there's really no basis for the personal, character attacks that LIAC made against him. If you think that Karlos Dansby was overpaid, then let's talk about that. But if you think he was a bad guy and a bad teammate, when he was a two-time team captain, I'm going to argue with you.

It is nothing personal.
