Hall of Famer
p.s. i dont believe anything anymore..theres just too much crap flying around right now.
if this is the case, and Marion goes to Boston and we get that pick, we can then offer KT/Ratliff and the number 5 and #8 picks for KG - pretty much a lock for what McHale wants. makes perfect sense to me.
just to add more smoke to the fire.
my "guy" just text me about an hour ago and said sarver/griffen/kerr are all at dinner..
he said basically suns are getting cats pick marion to boston for #5 and those 2 picks and atls next year for KG
thats the MEAT part of it..dunno about fillers.
thats what he told me about an hour ago now. for whatever its worth.
if you want to know who my "guy" is, check my post history in the big "source from minnesota board says KG..."
i got yelled at last time i put crap on here...but i think enough stuff has leaked out that it should ight. ( 3rd hand info)
They just played a Ric Bucher clip on ESPNews and he is now saying the Suns would include Amare for KG if KG were willing to waive his trade kicker................

Wow. See, that's the ONLY way I think that KG comes to the Suns, personally.
But are the Suns willing to extend KG? Without Amare, I'd say yes. With him I don't know...and KG wants extended.
Actually, this makes the most sense and sort of fits nicely with the parts of stories I've heard elsewhere. Maybe a little too perfect.
I do believe the deal with Charlotte (or another team, backup plan) was going to go through whether the Suns could pull of the KG deal or not.
What's the Bobcats' deal again? Atl 08 pick, #24, JR for #8, right?
What about Marion, do they fear him screwing this up, or will he go to Boston?

Depends on who you talk to, and it didn't sound like they had agreed on players last I heard, just the concept in principle. I've been led the believe the Bobcats wanted to send a player back. Maybe Brevin Knight, whose agency status was up in the air. I dunno, and didn't really understand the details.
I didn't see that...hopefully Sportscenter covers all these quotes coming up.
It was wierd it was pretty much the same conversation he had on Sportscenter only that part about Amare was added on.
It’s no secret Phoenix has been in contact with other NBA teams throughout the pre-draft process – a process that is making new President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Steve Kerr’s first front office foray into draft preparations one to remember for him and his new Ops staff.
“I’m happy I have all these smart guys around me,” he said. “This is what they’ve been doing for years. I’ve been doing it more on a fantasy basketball level, watching from afar. I have been in the league for some capacity for 19 years. I’ve been watching players, and I feel I have a good handle on it. It’s a group evaluation. We take everyone’s opinion. We think about it. We hash it out and ultimately align and go forward.
“We have a huge advantage here. People want to play here in Phoenix. That’s always been the case. (Thirteen) years ago, Danny Manning came here for a minimum contract. It’s a great organization. Right now, the way the team plays and the way Steve Nash distributes, playing for Mike, playing with Amaré Stoudemire and Shawn Marion – these are things that are really enticing to other players. We’re lucky to be in that situation.”
Even if no moves are made prior to Thursday, the Suns say they have little reason to worry, thanks to the crop of talent that will undoubtedly still be available late in the first round.
“It’s a good draft in terms of really being in the thick of it,” Griffin said. “Not getting the Atlanta lottery pick was an immediate setback, but it is certainly something attractive to people right now (for next year). Whether we move up or stand pat, we will get a heck of a player. It’s good to be in a situation like that and be part of a draft like that.”
Not ruling out any last-minute wheeling and dealing, there is still no panic on the part of the reigning Pacific Division champs come 2007-08.
“If something presents itself, we’ll jump all over it,” D’Antoni added. “If not, we’ll just trot out the same guys, and hopefully we’ll play a little bit better.”
Not sure what you are watching, maybe times are changed, but Sportscenter just came on...it's been NFL Live and Baseball tonight for the last two hours.
I thought Knight is a team option this coming season. I really hope they don't just dump KT without a chance that the other team might waive him before the playoff run that he could join us again then.
He does, which was one of the parts I didn't understand. First said Charlotte wanted to send him, but information sounded like Suns were interested in a sign-and-trade, with Charlotte renouncing rights. *shrug* Maybe it was speculation on their part. In that scenario, I think Suns were including Banks.
I didn't get it, but several sources in NC are convinced Suns/Charlotte have a working agreement on the No. 8 pick.
That sounds encouraging either way. As long as we also ship Marion to either Boston or Memphis, I'd be just happy with the picks and without KG.
