We have guys who can put points on the board, we just don't have anyone who can facilitate the offense. Russell isn't that guy. And Booker plays better as a 2 guard.
McConnell is a very good defender. Hard-nosed, not afraid to get in other players' faces. Also much more mature than Russell. Trust me, we don't need malcontents in our locker room.
I really don't think you can have too many guys that can put points on the board in today's NBA. I think you need at least 4 out there all the time and 5 is even better. So, long term, I would want a PG that is a threat to shoot or drive at any time. But yeah, I don't think Russell is that guy either. So, I'd prefer TJ while we wait to find or develop a true threat at the 1. TJ will at least make the rest of the guys better and he's been known to hit the big shot every now and then.
