I think Iggy comparison is pretty good. I am not sure he will be as good of a facilitator as Iggy was (and still is, I suppose), but the rest seems to line up.

Iggy was a triple double machine. Josh Jackson only had more than 5 assists twice (7&6)....... Iggy averaged 5.

Kawhi is a physical freak with a nearly 7'3'" wingspan even though he's only 6'7", Jackson is 6'8" but with a 6'10" span...that is miles and miles and miles of difference.

I understand that they are not physically the same, but I am hoping for the same style and impact as a player. Someone who is elite on both ends of the court. A defensive player of the year candidate while still an All Star on offense.

If you go to NBADraft.net, this is what they have for Josh Jackson

NBA Comparison: Kawhi Leonard/Jimmy Butler

Yes, which is why I said, "I am not sure he will be as good of a facilitator as Iggy was (and still is, I suppose)"

I have a question, out of the top three in the draft, which one is the closest to being PJ Tucker, our swiss army knife defender? We need THAT kind of player back!

I won't be disappointed with Jackson. I assume he is an upgrade over TJ. Although I think TJ could be really good with a player like Ball in the line up--Fultz maybe too.

Because Iggy played only 19 minutes per game as a freshman and was a year younger as a freshman. He averaged more assists per minute as a freshman already.
Okay slin, I'll bite, what were each of their per minute assist rates?

True but Kansas played him at the 4 and had the best guard combo in the country, and almost no low post scoring, it shouldn't surprise anybody that Jackson wasn't a playmaker at KU.

Another comparison although obviously not physically but style of play would be Draymond Green. Jackson averaged 3 APG at KU playing the 4, Green as a soph at MSU played the 4 and averaged 3 APG, 4.1 as a junior and 3.8 as a senior.

Again Green was much bigger weight and strength wise, he had to lean out, jackson the exact opposite needs to get bigger and stronger. Green is a hybrid 4 who even plays the 5 in the NBA, I don't think Jackson will even play the 4 he's likely going to play the 3. But he has a similar skill set and like Green he plays hard all the time.

And he does all that without kicking people in the nuts.

I see Jackson being compared to guys like Jimmy Butler, Kawhi Leonard and Paul George but none of those guys had the type of offcourt issues that Jackson has had.

I wouldn't hate drafting Jackson like I do Lonzo but I do question his character.

His jump shot leaves a lot to be desired but maybe he can make a Kawhi type leap in that department once he enters the league.

Paul George does not have off court issues?

He got a stripper pregnant and offered her a million for an abortion.

He did that when he was in college itself?

I obviously meant as a prospect. And what Jackson's been accused of is far less than what George did.

Yeah while George's actions are slimy, they aren't criminal or even unethical by many standards.

This is who I want because I am just having a hard time getting excited about a PG. We need defense and if we can survive with Marion's funky damn shot his release doesn't really bother me either.

That doesn't mean I don't think the other guys won't be good. I just think good, legit front court players are a commodity.

Same here. Drafting a PG kinda leaves me a little blah. Especially since we have Bledsoe. Is Fultz going to be doing something so dramatic compared to what Bled is doing?

Jackson fills so much of what we need. Our defense is atrocious... Jackson would probably be a top three defender on this team even as a rookie. Plus his passing would really blend well with Booker and Chriss.

Thing with Bledsoe is that his knees give out every other season. He's due next season around December to tear his left knee meniscus so then we would be back to just starting Ulis at PG again with Ronnie Price as backup.

Assuming we get the number 1 pick in the draft, I say we draft Fultz or Ball. I remember the Eli Manning draft in the NFL. San Diego picked Eli anyway, traded him for Rivers and I believe 2 other picks and a player. I think you take the best guy at 1, and then work a deal later!
