What is the percentage of kicks that are actually brought out now?

Seems like it's not enough of a factor to pay a specialty guy anymore since the rule change.

Cribbs is an awful WR. So his 2 purpose situation your claiming is quite a stretch. JMO

Tell me any other WR on this team who would battle him for the 4th spot and would be as good of a deep threat. We don't need him to be a great WR we just need the threat of him going downfield or catching a bubble screen and taking it to the house.

on his measly 100 catches in 8 seasons in the league he boasts a 10.9 yard average on catches. How is that stretching the field??

As an example Anquan Boldin whom most people consider very slow and has lost his step averaged over 14 yards per catch last year in his 10th season??

That is Cleveland fault not his look at who he had throwing to him. That is like blaming Roberts for having 12 yards per catch last year when he is supposed to be our deep threat.

And not to mention where he's really only done anything offensively for 1 season & that was pedestrian

And your point is? Sounds like your making your own point of signing Cribbs isn't needed. :D

Guys like Cribbs at WR are a dime a dozen...I'd take Doucet over him.

go read the last post of the free agency thread where chopper quotes what Joe said about cribbs. He makes his case better than I.

I guess we better cut Fitz after last year too since he averaged less per catch than Roberts. ;)

Did you watch a Cards game last year? 9 out of every 10 passes were thrown 5 yds downfield it seemed...our WRs yds/catch was due to the pitiful QB & Oline play.

I read it earlier, it still doesn't make me feel better about signing the guy unless he's a bargain. Hes a return guy & thats it IMO. Everyone has their opinions & maybe you guys are right & maybe me & Shane are right.

Who is going to be throwing to him here? I don't want to shock you, but if we called Cleveland and offered them any two of our quarterbacks for any one of theirs, they wouldn't be able to stop laughing.

I agree with you I'm just making the point you can't hold his ypc against him and say he can't be a deep threat.

He can't be a deep threat because he can't catch the ball and he can't run good routes.

Like with Devin Hester, if it were going to happen for Josh Cribbs, it would have happened by now.

Is Cribbs a bigger threat on our offense or on the depth chart ahead of Roberts? Cribbs has rarely done anything offensively IMO to make him such a threat...give me Roberts over him anyday in the passing game.

This would be soooo like the Cards, getting fired up about basically a ST demon. Lol:bang:

Cribs would be depth signing and ST captain. Can't see him supplanting anyone on the WR depth chart, currently. He'd be no better than #4.

It'll be interesting to see how much he gets paid. Yes, the KR role has diminished, but he's still a bigger threat than WiPo, IMO. And seeing as our offense will be a dumpster fire next season, yards will come at a premium. Take them where you can get them.
