I would snag Wile and let Arians know anyone on our roster who can hold the ball will do, like I don't know... a QB in case the snap is bad and we can have a chance

What was wrong with Quigley? I thought he was a MASS improvement over Butler! Was so pissed when I read that Butler became the punter again and Quigley had been cut.

As much as I want a new punter like all you, Butler got booed at the game yesterday when he kicked the 27 yard punt and I felt bad for the guy. Not as if he is trying to be bad, he just is. There is obviously more to this than what we are being told why he is still here. Guess we will see if the Cards bring someone else in

maybe a small thing: but an encouraging development in our growth as "knowledgable fans" --

while i knew diehards like us had pegged Butler as a serious weakness, it was good to hear the a big chunk of fans at the game immediately start to boo

He wasn't. His numbers were almost identical to Butler's during his brief stay. He did get some hang time on a few punts, which created a "he's much better!" mirage briefly. In reality, he sucks ***** too.

The only semi-valid reason they gave for bringing Butler back is that he can also kick FGs & kick off in a pinch in case Catanzaro gets hurt.... Quigley couldn't do those things I guess. Still a weak excuse since Butler sucks at his primary job of punting.

I'm all for bringing Wile in & letting Stanton hold if Wile can't.

I tend to this the Kiem has known this all along. There is a fine balance between the GM and the Coach. They are not always going to agree. They seem to do well together, and sometimes you have to defer. Kiem can't just go out, sign a new punter, and present him to Arians and his boy Amos, and simultaneously cut his boy Butler.

if we have 2 punters, we need to sign one

one is not an holder but can punt 65 yard

the other one is a holder but struggle punting over 40 yards

he will sign the second one
