Kevin Kolb-QB- Eagles Jan. 9 - 12:20 pm et

Adam Schefter reiterated on ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown that the Eagles would require at least two first-round picks to consider trading Kevin Kolb this offseason.
A Kolb trade remains highly unlikely. Considering Michael Vick's style of play and risk of injury, Kolb is too valuable for a Super Bowl contender to deal. He's put nothing on tape that would prompt a smart team to meet the Eagles' prohibitive asking price.

Well Andy, you know what you can do with Kolb.

If I were the eggles I would trade Vick and keep Kolb if they are really that concerned about his health/style of play. More likely to get two 1sts for him in a sign and trade.

Kevin Kolb wants out of Philadelphia if the Eagles bring back Michael Vick as their starter, sources tell beat writer Jeff McLane.
Vick is almost certainly going to be brought back via the franchise tag, so Kolb is trying to set the stage for a trade. The problem is that the Eagles likely want Kolb as a backup to the injury-prone Vick. They reportedly are asking an outrageous price for Kolb -- at least two first-round picks. Trade rumors surrounding Kolb will persist throughout the offseason.

No question he wants out....nothing is allowed to be done as far as trade goes until CBA is settled....plenty of time to talk. Let's all hope and I believe it is fair to say that the team does not make any compromises and picks up a half baked guy hoping he can regain his game...we have seen enough of that on several fronts.

What did the Chiefs give up for Cassel, it was a 3rd right? This should be the top price for Kolb, for the Cards.

With that train of thought and being more recent than Schaub. I think that sounds about right.

It was the 34th pick in the draft but the Chiefs also got Vrabel.

Cassel had had more starts. :)

This and Pioli sp? had first hand knowledge as he was with the Pats and Cassel at the same time. The more I think about it the less I want Korn on the Kolb (great line from you).

I am getting scared too. Whitehurst in Seattle has me thinking Kolb might have looked good in Philly, (for a minute) but might just get worked here. The Cards should seriously consider passing on dudes that have had been benched due to concussions, we currently can not protect our QBs. I hope we go with a shot at greatness in the first round.

Me too. I'm not sure Newton is a Whiz kinda of QB or not. I for one would love to have a QB that can scramble and pick up 1st downs with his legs at least once and awhile. Newton has the arm but does/will he have the vision/ability to read a D. I guess if VY can complete passes in the NFL Newton surely can.

Orton is the most proven guy available and for the best price. IMO its a no brainer.

Bulger will be cheaper, if we go QB in the first round you can almost count on it with our payroll. If we don't I hope we get Orton.

If the Cardinals are smart, they will bring in both. We absolutely cannot settle for bringing in just one veteran QB.

Jurecki had Vito Stellino on yesterday -- Vito is a Philly radio guy and the Eagles sideline reporter. His take on Eagles QB and Kolb:

1. Eagles will franchise Vick and he is the QB
2. Stellino beleives Kolb will be a very good NFL QB.
3. Eagles will only trade Kolb if they get an very attractive draft pick package
4. How good a draft pick package? Cards first rounder. 2nd rounder wont do it.

Take if for what its worth.

ahaha stelino take your kolb...he started just 5 games and didnt put really tremendous stats..the next year is a free agent..so a 3 round or maybe a third and fourth is enough))))

The Eagles used a 2nd TO GET Kolb. No way they take less after the investment they made in him.

They'll likely keep 2 QBs. Kolb will be happy because he'll get to start 4 games when Vick inevitably has to miss some due to injury. Then he can raise his value with the Eagles or for his real free agency deal.

No way that the Eagles are going to want to risk breaking a new QB into their system with a shortened offseason because of the CBA.

IF Kolb is the guy (and I personally think it would be a good choice)....it has to be done after the CBA and will have to be a sign and trade deal...no way Cards take a chance of losing him after a year....Orton would be a very sensible pick up by the way as quality would be there but not at the same price as Kolb....Orton has a very attractive W/L percentage over the years and has run into to bits of bad luck...Rex Grossman and Tim T....Kolb will cost someone a 1 & 2 minimum this year. Remember Cutler who is a five year proven QB cost 2 1's AND Orton.

cutler had 3 years of starting experience collecting really good stats..kolb what he did???? we can just compare him to m.shaub.who was a back up in atlanta, so the eagles will be happy to get a second round for him
