I just feel used right now. This is worse than I ever imagined.

I love the team and reserve the right to be impressed by this. But after the past 3 years, I just feel chewed up, spit out, and then crushed by a bulldozer.

I have to find a better use of my free time. Because Sarver & Bidwill don't seem to care as much as I do most years.

Those reactions seem entirely warranted.

I truly wonder, does Mikey sit back after he makes those extensions and think to himself, “YEAH! I got those guys locked up!” And then he sees these reactions and says,”huh, didn’t see that coming. Why is everyone so up in arms and laughing at me?”

Bidwill will be paying at least 2 coaches for 5 years when he fires Kliff after next year’s 5-12 season. Because there will be at least one more coach firing in that 5 years. Meanwhile, MB and Keim will be flying in that fancy plane losing and boozing.
He’d never take the firing hit.

I'm marking these responses, if this team actually starts winning, some here will have little to pivot from where going on a crow diet will offer little absolution haha. I have no idea how this is going to play out, because I still think Kingsbury and Murray can and will get better, but I think Keim is a hopeless cause at drafting and drafting is what this team is going to have to rely on once that hobbit gets Smaug's treasure extension taking up a ton of salary cap space. Extending Keim is what keeps this team mediocre

Welp, this at least prepares me to be less engaged if/when the team falters next year. So I guess . . . thank you Michael bidwill?

I'm expecting to be able to reject that crow and eat a bone in rib eye while you explain why you thought Kliff and Kyler would get better. Just jerkin' your chain a bit Jet :)

This is me too, but that is the problem. This board would still be upset if they gave Kliff an extension. Both of them getting an extension though is why were are justifiably upset.

Couple of things to consider:
1. What are the details of the contract extension? Is it really 5 years more or are some of the years options years. Also are there any performance clauses for an early out?
2. Michael Bidwill is not a stupid business man. It would be dumb to extend 5 years and end up eating several years of contract.
3. This extension tells me that they do want Kyler and will give him his money. He won't have to worry about a new offense with KK there for the long term.

Bottom line for me is we need know more about the contract.

I will gladly explain while I join you, but prefer BBQ brisket... we all get beer unless your really West Coast and will then allow wine but only dry wine to match our marvelous dry wit lol

1. 5 more years after this one. 6 total. Fully guaranteed.
2. He did have to eat Wilk's contract after one year.
3. Agreed.

BBQ brisket would be great with a BEER, no wine with our whine about this team Jet.

I posted a few times after the season that KK and Keim were definitely not going anywhere. Extensions were more likely than firing.

But, FIVE years?!? Wow.

Thats the problem though.

Keim cant help Kliff who then cant help Kyler.

We need Kliff and Kyler to get a lot better. Maybe they can. However, Keim will always be in the way.
Tougher schedule, older team, no FA money, at least we know Keim will get some immediate draft contributors!

Hmm. All the more reason why Kyler's agent wants to get a deal done. Crazy thing is if Kyler has a full complete MVP caliber year it still wont be great. Cause now you're paying him close to 50 million, but depending on Keim to make decisions post that contract. You risk being the Lions with Stafford.

Have to at least give Sarver credit. He realized the train started with the GM.

LOL.

I don't think this is meant to stick it to Kyler, I think Bidwill thinks this is showing him the commitment to winning the letter asked for.

These contracts would have been being worked on and negotiated for months you'd think, not just since Kyler's letter

Feels like an organisation that has experienced limited success overvaluing a playoff appearance.

Not a coincidence that they waited until after yesterday's media availability to announce it.

Based on historical trends I’m guessing 8-9, but it’s early.
I feel that is optimistic, but that's because I am expecting a much weaker roster with our lack of cap space, and Keims draft history.
