I like it!

So is he still just the 1.4 mill cap hit this year then?

Nope, probably gave him a bump in salary this year, some bonuses will het and so on.

There was a market for Kolb but the Cardinals were playing hardball, so they moved on.

The Cardinals bid against themselves. I mean, I'm happy to have Kolb on board, but DRC and a #2? Maybe DRC and a #5 at the most.

If DRC just ends up being a flake with flashes of greatness, I'm ok with that. But if the Eagles can harness him, then Kolb better be taking us to the playoffs the next 6 years.

wow....With no one else inquiring about Kolb, and the fact that hes leaving next year as a FA, the cards got screwed in every facet of this deal. DRC and a 2nd round pick, absolutely horrible business decision, everyone knows it, except the cards FO. Eagles FO >>>>>>>>> Cards

That 2nd round pick should have at least been conditional....

He signed a 5 year extension along with the trade....

You are assuming a lot, Broncos only wanting a third, Orton not asking for to much money, Kolb not shopping his services to other teams this time next year, Cards liking Orton enough to give up a draft pick and new contract, Fitz liking Orton as a QB, and so on.

After his rookie year, I hoped (and thought) that DRC would turn into one of the best CBs in the league. He still has the opportunity to do that if he gets his head right. However, he was definitely a HUGE disappointment last year.

I am optimistic.

A #2, a Pro Bowl corner, and $63 million. Holy balls.

If this guy isn't the second coming of Dan Marino we are in big trouble.

You are skewing it again.

We didn't give him $63 million, we gave him 20 million.

I'll say it again, if he hits the full $63 million on the deal that means he'll have hit EVERY SINGLE ESCALATOR in the contract.

If he does that, then he'll have been well worth it.

Glad we didn't give up a first. The money is a bit steep, but could end up a bargain if he lives up to the hype. Perhaps the best part of this is that Fitz was begging for him. He now has no excuse to not extend.

The key is the guaranteed money. $20M. Seems reasonable. Plus---if he proves to be the franchise QB---we have him for 6 years at a very reasonable per annum.

Look---Kolb is the guy Whiz and the Cardinals picked out and wanted. We have heard all the debates about him. The talent is there. And so will be the desire on Whiz's part to turn Kolb into a winner. Plus. Fitz likes him. Hate to have to give up DRC and a 2nd rounder---but all things considered, this is a gutsy and bold move by the Cardinals---one that was made with conviction.

If the Eagles can harness DRC more power to them, we didn't. Like you said, playing for the Cards he had flashes of greatness but he lacked the discipline it takes to be a great player at his position.

Should note it will be more then 20 mill, but it isnt even close to the 30+ everyone said he would get.

Edit looks like around 22 mill to be exact.

Glad we finally have our QB. Welcome to the Cardinals, KK. Now get on a plane and get your ass to camp. :D
