i'm eagerly anticipating the next morsel that fall's out of Matt's mouth! Come on Matt! Give us something to go even more nuts over today!
The team moving out of Phoenix would be the ultimate nightmare. I can't even comprehend what that would be like.
It wouldn't be bad for Suns fans living in LA.
San Diego Suns? I like it.
Why does anyone think they can get high pick/picks for Hill . He plays on one year deals. Why trade for him if he's just going to return to the Suns the next year... or retirel.
Nash has two years on his contract:
2010-11 $10.3 million
2011-12 $11.7 million
Thats kind of high for a role player.
screw that. I root for the place I was raised, not some traveling circus led by a penny pinching P.T. Barnum.
a) who said "high pick" for hill? i think he'd be worth a 29 - 32nd pick in the draft for a contender looking for a roleplaying defensive/offensive swing.
b) most teams wouldn't be looking at nash as a "role player" yet. and his salary is still relatively reasonable for a contender looking for the "missing piece."
so maybe you'll back off on the "i'll always be a suns fan no matter what" comment? looks like someone on the board came up with a scenario where we all might hate the suns forever afterall. yeesh. this is so drastic i can't really give it legitimate thought.
I hope this post isn't serious. I see a .00000001% chance of the team moving from Phoenix. As bad as Stern is, he would never allow it, not when the city gives it so much support.
Lets never forget he chased off a Coach who led the team to their most successful 4 year run...
This is Coro's blog post from yesterday and the tip of the iceberg ... it paints the same picture I've been given.

Just heard Griff officially resigned ...
BUT
... asst. coaches got 1-year extensions.
What the FRACK is going on? Guys I bet the discussion went like this:
Sarver - "Griff, your next in line for the GM spot....you interested?
Griff - "Absolutely. I would be honored. When do we discuss salary? I would expect a GM salary".
Sarver - "Uhhh....there wouldn't be any additional compensation at this time."
Griff - "I am not sure I would want the job without being compensated fairly."
Sarver - "Think about it"
1 hour later...... (Jacque Cousteau accent)
Griff *Screw this....this is an insult. I am going to quit*
Griff - "Mr. Sarver, I don't think the organization is showing enough respect after all the time and effort I have given to this organization. I would like to tender my resignation."
Sarver - "Can I promote someone from our scouting department? Where is Ced Ceballos?....He will work for cheap".
For those of us struggling to read between the lines, can you possibly go into more detail explaining what the deal is? That article was pretty negative, but didn't tell us anything we didn't know. OR DID IT?

The last paragraph probably says more than one realizes. Philosophical differences played a role in Kerr's departure, among other things.
Sarver doesn't do business the NBA way, which is to reward and lavish the organization for success. He goes to the table and expects to pay what he considers the market is and won't really budge. He doesn't renegotiate in the middle of a contract. He doesn't really take into any other factors, like organizational morale. He's genuinely surprised at the hurt feelings people have in his organization over this.
i don't think it'll happen either, but you said there was no way you'd bail on the team, and i think a move might be that way, no matter how remote the possibility of it happening.

Well, if they did leave, they would no longer be my team, so they'd be the ones bailing.
