He still had less than 250 yards passing.
He had 4 touchdowns, no picks, and a passer rating of 129. The guy could throw for 500 yards and people would still find something to complain about lol. We ran for 150 yards also, so we didn’t really need to throw it all over the yard. Would have had more time of possession & yards if our defense didn’t give up 440 yards & the Niners had the ball for 32 minutes.

I get all that, but he seems throttled at 250.

Taps sign

We will win on Sunday because the Niners are heavily injured and will likely rest a bunch of guys that are nicked up they would normally push to start. It's going to be mostly B team.

Plus they would rather they draft higher and we draft lower. They will practically throw this game.

Kyler stans going to be crowing when Kyler throws for 250 and 2 TD's again Niners B team like he won a playoff game.

stats, with the stipulation that they aren't dispositive:

12th overall in passer rating 93.5, 21 TD / 11 INT + 572 rushing and 5 TDs. QBR = 9th overall at 66.5

Optimistic take: I think a team can win lots of games and make playoff runs with the above level of QB play -- but its the level where nearly everything else on the team has to be good. All that means is he isn't the "carry the team" kinda QB like Allen or Mahommes

Pessimistic take: I'm troubled by his tendency to get "sped up" in big games. You can almost tell from the first series or two which Kyler we are getting.

Deebo looks like Michael Wilson now. Has sucked balls since he got paid.
That's an interesting point. It's funny because Deebo Samuel is used the way we should've used Rondale Moore. Samuel only has 10 more targets than Michael Wilson, but also got 40 rushing attempts and ended up with 800 total yards.

He's fine, but the arguments that Brandon Aiyuk wasn't a #1 WR in this offense seem pretty hollow now.

Some people in here sound like those guys whose wife cheated on them like 5 times with different guys but this time she's going to change.

We all know exactly who he is now, and nothing is going to change. MHJ can become Mike Evans and it won't change the fact that Kyler isn't good at reading defenses, it's good at seeing the field and chokes when it matters.

We may have to live with another year of it, but if you can get a good trade for him in a weak QB year I'd take it and roll for a year with Russ Wilson or Jimmy G, and before anyone says Kyler is better, he's really not. He's different, he has higher peaks, but he's really not better.

If you can get anything that adds up to round 2/3 value take it and run.

Kyler's record from week 8 onwards sucks.

Wins are not a QB stat, but Kyler's splits by game number are pretty interesting.

Taking a rookie qb somewhere in this draft should still be a move. Im going start looking more into this Jaxson Dart from Ole Miss. With it being a lesser qb wouldn't be surprised best qb comes later in the draft.

same defense that gave kyler 3 extra drives? thru 3 turnovers? not to mention special teams extending the early drive that kyler couldn't

kyler played good yesterday - which is a step up from how he's been playing but it doesn't matter because he didn't step up when it mattered

Wins are really only a coaching / GM stat in football. I don't even like them for pitchers.
Even then. A three-point loss doesn't mean anything, nor does a three-point win. There are plenty of underlying metrics you can point to and look at to determine contribution.

On their own no, over a career when looked at by week like this? Hard to say it's anything else but the QB. Especially when we have all watched it with our own eyes. Let me look at passer rating and QBR.

On saying that, good QB's generally win more than not.

A very gracious take Stout, thanks.

Everybody knows this win doesn't prove anything for Murray.

The only thing that will change his current career trajectory (which is in the express lane to nowhere) is in 2025 to play well enough in some kind of must-win or playoff-spot-clinching game.
He may not get that chance with the Cards.
