Knowing our luck, both Cam & Sheduer become top 5-10 franchise QBs & the 2026 QB class ends up like the 2021 QB class. A LOT of hype but just turns out as that. Hype

lol

And tbh

We don’t even know if Arch is even good yet

If he is though, you got Arch and Raiola in 2027.

You all need to look at the QBs that are going to be in the 2026 draft before you think we can't draft a Murray replacement even at like 15. If we are drafting in the 20s I still might take a QB

I think 2026 will have a run there's going to be 5 or 6 guys very high that year.

In the 25 draft there's nobody I'm overly interested in for the first 2-3 rounds at QB. I want to get another QB to compete with Murray because he's pretty likely coming back, but this is not the draft to do it.

I got to give K1 his props today. You can say it was a meaningless game, you can say they were beat up, and you can say they surrendered, but K1 did what was necessary to get a win today. Man played well today. I just hope the light finally comes on next year. I know hope in one hand etc but that's all we got.

What a noble post. Three cheers for WisconsinCard!

You are definitely one of the good darksiders, along with that rascal Stout. :)

He would get us to the super bowl?!? Sign me up.

Yep, you just need to surround him with the leagues best defense, 3 RB's over 500 yards, leading the league in rushing and yards per attempt, an elite coach and we're there.

We might have the run game, and we have the TE, and hopefully Marv next year will be close to Deebo 2019.

There's a good reason SF got rid of Jimmy and he's 6 years older than the year they took him to the SB. That defense was insane, Bosa, Greenlaw, Warner, Buckner, Armstead, Dee Ford.

Obviously Mahomes is just incredible but still amazing that SF did NOT win that year with that team, they were clearly the best team. Everyone blames Shanahan for blowing the game but they had the game right there, perfect play call, if you watch that video the guy draws it up to perfection, the WR is WIDE open, it's a TD, and Jimmy G overthrows him by about 8-10 yards. There's another video of the same play by a 49er fan who's screaming after "the one thing you cannot do on that play is overthrow it, give him a chance to catch it or get PI NEVER overthrow a deep shot."

It's one of the biggest choke plays in Super Bowl history up there with the buffalo missed FG and some others. As the announcer said at the time you just don't get a player more open than that in the NFL to miss that play, SF fans loved Jimmy, good looking nice guy, that play changed the entire perception of the fanbase.

He can't stay healthy now, got caught using PED's, had some other off field stuff. But yeah let's put him at QB next year.
And as someone else said we're not even sure yet how good Manning is, some of the games he played in he looked great, some of them he looked pretty mediocre to be honest

Stop it. You know how good that roster was.

That defense was one of the best defenses we've seen in ages. Not the Bears or Ravens of course but that was an elite defense. And the run game they had 2 guys over 5 yards a carry and a third over 500 yards.

We don't have a DE, DL or LB on our current roster who would have started on that team.

Deebo is cooked now, hasn't been good since 2021.

Played 15 games this year and only had 670 yards. Played 15 last year and only had 892. Has one great year in 6 and gets injured a lot. Never played a full season outside 2021.
Yep. Go and watch Receivers on Netflix. The guy flat out comes out and says “I don’t like to get hit”. He comes out of the damn Super Bowl in the 1st quarter with shoulder pain, and never even tries to go back in. His medical team cannot pinpoint what if anything is the problem. And he just sits on the bench the whole damn game.

In a heavy RUN designed offense….

It's not heavy run. It's a 55/45 split in favour of passing that ranks 22nd in the league. There's 3% points between us and the top 10.

Jordan Love has 225 yards per game, basically the same, in an offense that has a 48/52 split.

Lamar has 245 yards per game in an offense that has a 47/53 split.

Yes let's get Jimmy G in here.
this is the guy i want next year. Imagine how much he could overthrow Marv or Wilson by if they were wide open in the Super Bowl.

Yeah, Kyler has never done that...

This is the Alex Smith to Pat Mahomes transition plan , seems to have worked for the Chiefs

Smith was aging out, Kyler is in his prime years. Kyler is going to see any highly drafted QB as a direct threat to his career and request a trade right away.

This exemplifies all my frustrations with Kyler and Petzing this year.
What are the stats behind the stats?

Did we run the ball at a higher % (Petzing)

Did Kyler throw a higher % of incompletions (bad throws - Kyler)

Did we get sacked at a higher % (Oline)

Did we have a higher drop % by WR (can think of many from MHJ)

It's mostly Kyler throwing short of the sticks. Kyler's average yards per attempt on 3rd and 7+ was 5.18. OOF. Three first downs in 43 passing attempts (this is also pretty small sample sizes here, but high-leverage situations).

For the whole Cards offense, there were 70 plays of 3rd and long, rushed 30/passed 43/7 sacks.

Seven passing first downs, four rushing first downs.

Great point. Listening to Kurt Warner's evaluation of that game tape exposed that many times there were plays that should have ended up with much more yardage but Kyler either didn't see it, didn't wait for the play to develop, or just took matters into his own hands rather than relying on his teammates.

Bo Nix just finished season with 29 passing touchdowns. I had to stop and think for a min that we might actually never see K1 reach that mark or surpass it as Cardinal smh
Is Sean Payton coming here to coach him.

Oh wait Mikey blew that one too.

Manning: Nope
Reid: Nope
Payton: Nope
Ian Cunningham: Nope

Shocked no one wants to come here.
Can we please stop comparing ourselves to successful franchises and coaches.

We ain't on their level.

I love JG but he was a total crap shoot and MO was a bottom of the barrel pick.
Same goes for our coordinators.

Just this season we have seen some of our guys that were signed in other places have success.
Its really frustrating and one of the main reasons I would be very hesitant to castoff K1.
