I swore I wasn’t going to comment in this thread anymore but here’s a thought. This is predicated on Murray just blowing up the combine. What if the giants or the jaguars offered us their 2nd and their 5th pick for Rosen? We draft Murray and the have the 33rd and the 39th pick. We would have a dynamic mobile QB and a coach who loves the guy. Rosen is basically going to be a rookie trying to learn the new system. Why not start with a guy like Murray? Wouldn’t he add another dynamic to the air raid offense? I’m finding it hard to wrap my head around trading Rosen because the guy really didn’t have a fair chance. However , should the patriots offer their first round pick for Rosen , just say no and keep him. If the patriots are interested that would tell you something. Lol.

I know one thing. He won't be pulling a Jackson by refusing to run at the combine. He'll do everything he can to inflate his value to both NFL and MLB.

I thought KK is on record saying with the 1st overall pick he'd pick Kyler Murray! What more do we need to know. KK loves him some Kyler. Right now it seems ridiculous, but wait a couple of months for the hype train to roll into town!
he was pimping his player like any coach...and it was before he actually had the #1 pick.
zero chance Murray is the pick at 1... not just none, but zero.

Has Murray done something personal to you to make you not like him sir?

How many more times are you going to type that a sub 5-10 QB can't succeed in the NFL? We've got your point BW52.

And how many times do we have to hear that he is somehow the exception to the rule?

If the Giants or Jags made that offer, I'd see it as proof positive that we should keep Rosen and not wish and hope that a virtual football midget is the answer.

Rosen isn't going anywhere unless we sell him for pennies on the dollar. There was plenty of opportunity to snag him last year and in the end we got him fairly cheap. The Jaguars will look for a proven QB as they believe they can win right away with their defense. The Giants couldn't sell a trade for Rosen to the NY media. A QB just had one of the worst rookie seasons in recent memory.

I am thinking the jags will be front runners for Foles. IIRC they have the money and he fits what they do, leaning on fournette while throwing in some RPO's will get their offense right on track.

With all due respect sir, I'm not making the same point, over and over and over, as opposed to gentleman that I was addressing.

I'd like to think that my posts include first time content or comments related to the discussion.

Wow. He's the Heisman freaking trophy winner man. That award goes to the best college football player in the nation. I'll cut you some slack because you probably don't watch a lot of american college football, but your view point above comes across as dangerously uninformed.

See, that's the reason I feel like I need to defend Murray, just like I had to defend Mayfield last year. You're not giving him a fair shake. You're not giving credit, where credit is obviously due.

best "College" football player. While there have been some guys with great success short guys usually dont do well at QB in the "Professional" game.
Heisman means squat in regards to how well he will perform as a pro.

You'll note that didn't specifically point to you.

I am reliably informed that there are freaking Heisman Trophy winners who ended up in the CFL and either failed there or in their attempt to return state side.

Had a dream the other night and here's what transpired:
1. We drafted Murray with our #1 pick. Unfortunately, he decides to stick with baseball.
2. In 2019 Rosen continues to struggle and we, once again, end up with the #1 pick.
3. In 2020 we pick Tua and the third time is the charm, as he has a season that carries us to the SB. We also go down in NFL history as the only team to pick QB's in the first round for three straight years.

As for how the SB ended up. I don't know because I woke up just as the game began. :)

While Jackson has had some NFL success (an I am a big Jackson fan) I think there will be more passing and a little less running next season for LJ.I think hoping and thinki9ng a 5`9 190 QB will be top 10 is nonsense. You can`t coach size. What`s he going to do....roll out every play? This is the NFl...teams have already schemed for Jackson causing Baltimore to change gameplans. As for being more accurate than Jackson ever will be... I doub that...….

I don't care to have either QB but I would take Murray over LJ all day everyday. You can't teach accuracy & the Murray kid has it in spades.

I'm just going to say it..... If Kyler does what I think he will do at the combine, he will quickly become the #1 QB prospect in this draft and the buzz at the top of the draft will grow to a roar.

I bet he runs a 4.3 to 4.4 with some insanely timed short shuttles and shiftiness drills. If he also throws with high end velocity, we may be in for a ton of soul-searching about what we want our offense to look like in 2019. And if we are willing to go non-conventional in our Head Coaching hire..... Why would we be so adamant to be so conventional in our #1 QB?

I will reserve judgement.... But if we can get a top 20 pick for Rosen, and an extra year of rookie contract scale, and a better fit for our offense at QB all at the same time. I would do it and not even blink.
