It’s at the point where if Kyler is the QB it’s almost like why even watch. It’s the same story every year. I would rather watch watch Lawrence than Kyler. At least it’s something new and maybe he can at least make Harrison a weapon. I don’t want Darnold, I’d settle for Winston just for entertainment value.

Why you decided that the only way the Raiders could make a trade was to trade us good players is beyond me. Feels like you’re just trying to justify your original premise that doesn’t jive with reality.
So they would trade us bad players?

Ok. Found the article:

Thanks for that. Here is the author in other words he's a guy like us, only young and probably has all his hair.

My name is Andrew Vasquez and I am an aspiring sports journalist. I began my sports journalism career in September of 2024. I graduated from California Baptist University in Spring of 2024 with a major in Liberal Studies. I am pursuing a Master's degree in Early Childhood Development. I hope to see myself in the near-future becoming a teacher with a classroom of my own, while continuing to balance the responsibilities of covering sports journalism.

QBs in this draft are trash.

Your choices are stop gaps, like Double A Ron or Curt Cousins....throwing big money at someone like Darnold....or trying to trade for a QB like JJ McCarthy, if Minny keeps the Darnold.

I can't stand his politics etc but I don't know if people noticed how well Rodgers finished the year?

Last 10 games 18 TD's 4 picks, of course the team went 3-7 and he's a major locker room issue at this point. I wanted him out of Cal, said it here, but I don't want him now. Even as a stop gap.

and remember in order for him to finish that well they got Adams so he had Adams and Wilson, 2 WR's better than anybody we have right now.

Cousins looked bad down the stretch. Just be wary of either guy at their age with their recent history of injury.

I hope we bring in someone else to compete but I think the most obvious guy is Darnold and he scares the hell out of me

I don't agree with much on this board but at least people here back up their posts for the most part. I was up late(still jet lagged) and was debating some woman on a post on FB from the Cards board. She was insisting our schedule this year was weak and we will never make the playoffs with Kyler. So I looked it up and what I saw said we had I think the 9th toughest schedule. I don't agree we had an easy schedule. Ok but I'm just giving you the facts it's just math. I don't care you're lying. now I see we actually had the 5th toughest schedule.

She just refused to accept that if you look at the wins and losses of our opponents our schedule was NOT easy. I am still mad we blew the playoffs and I'm mad Kyler fell off significantly after the bye but on paper right now we have an easier schedule next year.

Why would anyone trade for Trevor freaking Lawrence?
Because he has talent and a change of scenery could do wonders. Look at the start of his career. All the different coaches, even the Urban Meyer fiasco haven’t done him any favors.
A couple years ago people would say why trade for Baker Mayfield. Now look at him and I’m sure most would be very happy with him at QB.

I don't know if you can get Russ for less than $30 million per year as a starter. Geno is making $25MM and is far less accomplished.

I believe Russ is still being paid by Denver through 2025, or at least has already been paid. It's why he signed for vet min with the Steelers.

No thanks. I’d rather start Tune for a year to lock in the 1st overall pick in ‘26 and get our guy there.

You can't do that. You lose the team. There are guys here that want to win, coaches too. You can't tank now, that ship has sailed.

This is really the biggest obstacle to moving on from Kyler. I think this year is a good year to max out his trade value because a lot of teams have desperate coaches and GM's that need a QB and FA and the draft suck balls. You get more for Kyler this year than next.

And his traded contract would actually be pretty attractive because we'd be swallowing a chunk of it.

The flip side of this is that it's hard for us to replace him, and trading away your starting QB to play some guy screws with the dressing room. There would be a bunch of unhappy guys, would make it harder to bring in good FA's.

It's a lot more complicated than we make out, especially if the locker room isn't checked out on Kyler. Much easier if there are players unhappy with him.

I think you could get away with a trade and signing someone like Russ Wilson who will have respect from players and just made the playoffs (although I think Wilson is a tool as a person), but it's slim pickings, and if it doesn't go your way could tear a team apart.
