LaCanfora : LB Foote re-signs w/ Steelers (with leverage from Cards interest)

The Steelers have stepped up negotiations with free agent ILB Larry Foote in an effort to keep him away from Arizona.

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reported early Tuesday that Arizona had emerged as the "strong favorite" to sign Foote. The Steelers have less cap space to work with, but want Foote back to play adjacent to Lawrence Timmons. The Cards can win a bidding war. There just shouldn't be one for a 33-year-old inside 'backer.
