Dude is wanted for questioning in the murder of his pregnant ex girlfriend. He is in Chicago for the draft. Might want to rethink that one.

BTW, couldn't his mama make up her mind ,.... boy or girl.

word is they need info from him rather than him being a suspect. We'll see. However, he is the kid who decided to go back and deal with that instead of being in the green room

Damn right he's a suspect. Pregnant woman killed and he's about to come into some serious cash.

He may not have done it, but they are sure going to question if he hired someone.

I can hear the law and order (thump thump) now.

I wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole on this one...he went from round 1-2 to round 5-7.

Any GM picking this guy in rounds 1-2 is gonna be hung from their shorts if he happens to be involved.

he is not a suspect....and has apparently not even seen the gal since September.

however, she was pregnant...the baby survived...and they have yet to determine paternity of the child.

Collins did not have to come back to Baton Rouge for this right now....he chose to do so......if anything, that move strengthens his character score.

So tired of hearing and reading this stuff. Seems like there is some sort of criminal activity with athletes every other day. Not saying that Collins is guilty, but someone obviously is!

Probably should wait to rush on judgement on this one. Nothing has been reported that he is being viewed as a person of interest or a suspect.

If I were him and he is innocent I would get there quick, answer all the questions and get a paternity test while I am there and assuming things come out all right have the Police issue a statement and have his agent do the press tour to clear his name. This could cost this kid millions and if innocent I would come out swinging.

That may be exactly what he is doing...he returned to BR right away.

Detectives are no joke ... if he goes in for questioning they will squeeze every ounce of info from him with or without his attorney.

If he's innocent this is some crappy time to have this surface.

Peter Schrager, draft analyst, has spoken to executives from four different teams who believes LSU OL La’el Collins is “undraftable” until he’s fully exonerated from the murder investigation.

I don't buy "undraftable".

You mean to tell me some team won't pick him up in the 4th round? I would in a second. Let's say there is a 50/50 chance he is not guilty. So are you going to take a chance on some other guy that might be a quality backup or marginal starter over a guy that is 50/50 to be a good starter for the next 10 years.

Worst case scenario, he's guilty and you just don't even sign him. Now, if you are the Pats, OK, he's off your draft board.

my god ...would be very gruesome story if he is guilty

i follow soccer in europe, rarely a player has off field severe issues

maturing as a professional player and human being is a long journey.it is start from childood, then high school ,college ....

what those guys do.they are not studying i think ,not values, not a moral code, just playing?

Honest question many of the Professional Soccer players in Europe spend all a good portion of thier lives on club teams prior to going pro? I would imagine a good majority of them did from at least age 11-12 and on. I could be wrong though, but that is the biggest difference. Most of those soccer player lived decent lives growing up never had the chance to get into trouble.

La'el Collins wants out of draft

The agent for LSU's La'el Collins is working to pull him from the draft, according to Fox Sports. Collins could then respond to a police investigation into the death of a woman, where Collins is not a suspect. Then he would enter the supplemental draft.

From ESPN Front page. Smart move.

Soccer is different...those guys LIVE the sport every day of their lives. There are soccer 'camps' out here that run year round (360 days a year - yes only 5 days off) 3 hours every day. Kids go from school directly to soccer to home and dinner then bed. You also can't be smoking and running all day like they do.
Serious soccer players don't have down time like football does and to me that's the biggest issue between the two.

so yeah you don't see those problems with soccer.

nfl denied him to be removed from the draft.

Bummer, not only does he have to deal with terrible situation, but now he could lose a lot of money. I would think he would hope to go undrafted now so he can choose his team and the best offer. That may at least help him in the long run.
