It hasn't changed that much.

Most everything I am seeing is Lebron is going to decide to become superhuman and carry the Lakers to victory.

They act like he is still in his prime fully heathly and has been holding back all series just to toy with the Suns. What kind of mental gymnastics is that?

that’s not what I’m hearing and reading. I’m reading the Suns now take the series.

I’d really like to see Booker turn It up tonight. This is another game where a superstar plays like one. He failed miserably in that regard the last two games. If he wants to be mentioned amongst the best and make All-Star teams without being a replacement, reputations are built in moments like these.

Magic is actually very smart. Dude is a businessman extraordinaire. He just loves attention.
I have a hard time believing this. I think he has some people around him that are pretty clever, and his name brand just attracts money, but when he talks stupidity flows out all over the floor.

ON the other hand, I have been watching some vid of James Worthy doing analyst work for the Lakers. He is in kind of a Tom Chambers role. That guy is great. Well-spoken, knowledgable. He is right there with Eddie Johnson.

I kind of agree. Lakers don’t have a lot of creators other than Davis and schroder. With Davis out let Lebron go nuts offensively (obviously try to slow him) but keep your defensive integrity on everyone else.

I kind of agree too. If we take everyone else out of the game and let Lebron go to work on his own, he'll have to play a lot of minutes this game. And when he does go to the bench then it'll disrupt what the Lakers will try to do when Lebron is sitting.

lol... we’re a little more even keeled than those threads.

Emphasis on “a little”...

A couple noticeable differences... one, this team has won A LOT more than it’s lost this year so they’re given a little more leeway (again, emphasis on a little) and people are much more likely by the end of games we win to admit they were a little unhinged during the game.

everyone generally believes in this team, to varying degrees and it’s pretty beloved universally just because of how great the season was so game day threads aren’t complete dumpster fires.

We have to go at this team. Drive it at Lebron and keep the pace as high as we can.

I've never read a Cardinals game day thread but there is lots of love, hate, ref bashing, second guessing the coach, fear, confidence, its fun. I recommend it.

Also its smaller, less people but the playoffs have increased the number of participants.

The Cardinals seem like perpetual underdogs that always seem to find a way to get in their own way. I know the Suns are guilty of that also but is that how people here view them in game threads? I'm just curious.

Since you've never ventured to a Cards game thread, you've done the right thing. They're a tough read.

Even though I'm a casual fan, I've been to maybe 20 Suns games dating back to Nance at the Vet (I used to boo James Edwards for loafing from one end of the court to the other). Stands were virtually half full back then and you could get a ticket for $15 bucks and sit wherever you wanted. I did see Celtics team with Bird/McHale there

I was trying to impress a lady Lakers fan once and I bought courtside at the vet (on folding chairs... lol). $200 a pop was yuuuuge money back then. Magic was only ejected about twice in his whole career and he got tossed from this game. She never spoke to me again... like it was my fault. KJ was the bomb in that game so I was happy. This had to be back in the late 80's

I was at the 1st game ever played at America West against the Clippers. Cheapest seats ever.. very top row right next to the the AC ducts... freezing cold. I kept warm by yelling at Larry Brown even though I always liked him when he coached at Kansas. A friend gave me tix to a Christmas Day game against the Spurs... in the Lexus Club, no less. That's gotta be 8-10 years ago.. maybe more.

Came over for a few games with the Barkley, KJ, Majerle team. I always liked Chambers too.. was a great regular season player but seemed to disappear in playoffs.

Suns have been so bad the last couple of years that I haven't been to a game in a while. I went to a few Coyote games but they ended up sucking the life out of me too. The highlight of that was seeing them beat the Av's with Roy, Forsberg, Heiduk (sp), Sakic etc. We went to another game against the Av's, right before Covid... Av's were up 4 zip in the first period. My wife dragged me out after it was like 5-1. Brutal

We're coming to Phx at Christmas for the Cards/Colts. My granddaughter is already begging me to take her to a Suns game if they're home that week. Sigh... grandkids are expensive.

Anyway, that's my story.

Anyway, that's my story.

I usually make it to a half dozen games a year starting in the Sarver years. Its easy to forget the baggage of the team being bad and having an idiot owner while at the arena watching live. That's part of why I love going. Plus tickets have been cheap since they've sucked. I haven't paid more than $15 for upper bowl seats and haven't paid more than $40 for lower bowl. Most of the time I can find a steal though and get seats for less than $10 a piece. Since I live off the light rail line, its a cheap night of entertainment.

Glad to see the team turn it around lately and get the valley's support again. I've been to games for all the teams here but nothing matches the vibe at AWA when the Suns are competitive.

He will become super human if the refs call it that way. Also, he’s clearly healthier than at the beginning of the series.

Yeah, you’re wrong here. I actually know two different business that have some nexus with Magic and he’s apparently involved quite a bit at high decision making levels. Particularly for businesses starting up in socioeconomic lower neighborhoods.

Don’t listen to cheese. At some point almost every game day thread devolves into yelling at some players and Monty. But much quicker takes and turns of perspective bc the game moves much more quickly. Rereading game threads are typically hilarious when you see the full arc many of us (ME) take from beginning to end.

It's sort of like the Cardinals game thread. When everything goes right it's cool. When things go wrong it can be hair raising and apocalyptic.

I like the ride though. Nothing like a game thread. It's where it's at... feeling the emotions of the game.

Definitely a rollercoaster.
