And yes, I have understood a lot about the game of basketball since I was 5. I love the sport.
I can understand that. I took my sons to Suns games at the Madhouse on McDowell when they were 8 and 5, just as my father had taken me to Major and Minor League games when I was that age..

One time, the crowd was silent and my five year old (who is now a university Physics prof in his thirties) called out at just the right moment, "DEFENSE".

After the crowd all around us looked to see who had ignited them, they all joined in.

Also, when the three of us had round robin series of Statis Pro baseball, he was as successful in calling hit-and-run plays, intentional walks, lefty-righty switches as my older son or I -- and I had a Bachelor of Science degree. (He now has a Doctorate.)

So, keep up the good work, Andrew.

piggyback. although it's not as complicated as basketball, i've enjoyed watching boxing at the age of 5 (not much of a basketball fan until shaq's career, i was 9 or 10)

Are you related to Andrew or affiliated with him in any way?

we're both shaq disciples, that's for sure. i mean, dude, i registered around the time of the trade. that should've given it away.

and saying that, i'm probably one of the handful here in this forum that genuinely believes we still have a chance of getting a ring with this team, a blind faith that developed over the years watching shaq's teams (heck, the miami championship team had it worse, so with a winning record here in phoenix doesn't shake me up as bad). i'm probably delusional, but i've seen it happen, so screw delusional, i'll keep believing till it's officially over :D

In these times of instant gratification, it's typical of many fans to expect instant results. D'Antoni had seasons with the Suns to establish his system. Porter deserves more than a quarter of a season. Especially because his approach is more well rounded.

I'm with you, French Fries. I'll keep believing, too. Because Porter's approach has more potential for success through the playoffs.

not that i like porter myself, he's young and not too imposing of a figure but i like his ideas (again, it's the execution i'm not happy about). for some weird reason, though, i see him as a dark horse. people may not agree with this, but i want porter to consistently force his gameplans to his players till the playoffs, as opposed to doing what works right now then suddenly changing it to adapt to the pace of the postseason (which doesn't really make sense to me. it's like throwing away what you've worked for the whole regular season, of course it's not gonna work)

See, this is what's wrong with this board and why people stay away from it. Andrew is a Suns fan, just like the rest of us. The least some of you can do is show him some respect and not constantly belittle him. If you don't like what he has to say, JUST USE THE IGNORE BUTTON.

End of rant.

It is so hard for me to use the ignore button as much as I want to because I actually enjoy reading Andrews posts. However, after reading them I have a hard time not commenting on them. His posts really are amusing and welcome by me atleast. I get excited when I see that he has commented on something because I know it will add some excitement to my message board reading.

Andrew we love you don't ever forget that and Shaq loves you too. :notworthy

This can't be the real Shaq...

Why? Just look at the links I provided in the OP. If the New York Times is not a good source for you, maybe just take a look at this other links:

http://smallbutfearsomepixie.com/?p=222
http://www.alleyinsider.com/2008/11/shaq-passes-gigaom-on-twitter-still-way-behind-obama-kevin-rose
http://www.sportingnews.com/blog/the_sporting_blog/entry/view/15067/shaqs_twitter_feed_we_can_dig_it

You can even look at his online marketing team site and see them talking about his twitter account with your own eyes:

http://www.sportsmediachallenge.com/

And if you still can't buy it, maybe he will give you a call:

Andrew is supposibly going to intern at a Newspaper in the near future so I am sure he can use his journalism credentials to get to the bottom of this Andrew, please report back to us. Also, if Shaq were to ever call Andrew I think Andrew would be on a Shaquesque "high" until the day he died.

JGKoblenz, do you sell payphones????

Ok, I believe it now...I just found it odd I didn't know about it until you posted, when I am usually up to date in the Shaq universe....

I only wish he would call me...

Just how bad was it for that Championship Miami team in the early going?

not that bad, actually. but so far they look a little worse than the present suns. barely making it to .500 in the early going, and just like the suns right now, the supporting casts were failing to deliver. they're just not clicking. you can even hear the boos for antoine walker, and lots of trade scenarios/suggestions in the heat boards, not any better than this board. there were also injuries here and there. it got a little better but nothing special. good thing the rest of the east teams also sucked and they ended up a second seed with 52 wins (yeah)

to continue, in the playoffs they lost the first game (i think) to njn, then went shaky against the bulls (was dominated on the road), then went against the pistons with the best record in the ecf as underdogs and had it not because of wade going crazy heat would've lost that series. and in the finals, they lost the first 2 games (ha!)

the situation is different obviously but considering what has been happening, we're still in a better position than we should have been (thanks to the high fg% which helps a lot). we got the talent, it's the cohesiveness that we lack. the heat got it in the late season and i believe the suns will too. it's a matter of being in the same page...
