I do too,but there's got to be a plan to at some point get a big rebounding PF in here....tomorrow or next season.

Or in between. In principle, the Suns could stand pat for now and then peddle Richardson at the deadline. Warrick would be tradeable by then too, if he turns out not to have a role now with Turkoglu aboard.

How do you see Hedo fitting in here? I don't think starting Warrick was a very good idea before. Now after aquiring the Turk there's no way Warrick starts. Right?

IMO you've got to put Turk at the 4 next to Lopez, leaving the decision at SF between Hill,Childress and Duds.

If there are no other moves, and Turkoglu starts at the 4, guaranteed Grant Hill starts at the 3.

Barring any further moves, I agree. But now Warrick is a pure backup PF, getting probably no more than 15 minutes per game. There's no other way to get him minutes unless someone is hurt.

I'm no capologist(i leave that to ya'll) but even with JRich's expiring?

Actually you're right. As long as the CBA doesn't change too much they'll still have max money next year.

However I have to think the recent moves indicate something else is coming that will change that.

For the fun of it I came up with a trade idea combining the Jefferson idea with the desire to get Zbo and his expiring.

To Min: J-Rich, Clark
To Mem: Al Jefferson
To Phx: ZBo

Minnesota gets a SG and a prospect. Memphis gets a similar player that isn't a headcase on a cheaper longer deal. Suns get a very talented player and keeps my Horford in 2011 fantasy alive.

Dirk has become a very respectable defender. His numbers for defensive rating are good.

A lot of that has to do with the defensive bigs he plays next to, just like the perception of Gasol's defense got better when he went to the Lakers. Dirk was never as bad as his reputation imo.

I think I would prefer sth like Okafor and picks for JRich because he is a decent defender/rebounder.

Okafor and Collison for JRich would be a pipe dream.

Lopez/Frye
Okafor/Warrick/Lawal
Turkoglu/Dudley/Clark
Hill/Childress
Nash/Dragic

Now I really think you've lost it. Okafor is no more a low-post scorer than Turkoglu. Why would you want another offensive liability to play alongside Lopez?

I don't think his defense is as good as his reputation and he has almost no offense.

Because we don't play through the low-post anyway.

He gets 10/9 and 1.6bpg in under 30mpg. He could slide over to the C position when Lopez is out of the game and we have enough scoring forwards anyway with Warrick, Frye and Turkoglu.

Man, as an opposing guard/forward I'd hate to have to get the ball past mid court and into my offense facing a team of reserves that includes Dragic,Childress and Dudley.
Yikes....."Coach i need a timeout!!"

Toronto fans are so happy they dumped Turkoglu. We really should have gotten more out of the deal.

The continuous negativity is a little tiresome.

But it would be nice to be able to, right?

He gets 10/9 and 1.6bpg in under 30mpg.

That's because he's too limited offensively to play more than 30 mpg.

Great, so now you're paying Frye $30 million to sit on the bench for 48 minutes.

Whatever Okafor would add would be a lot less than what is lost with Richardson, and the Suns would be on the hook for Okafor's contract until 2014.

I'm loving this move! Barbosa has some skills but never developed into a playmaker or good defender. He also doesn't seem to have the killer instinct I'd like in a primarily scoring player. I am from Orlando and was a fan of Turk when he played here. I ran into him actually on Mother's day at a Panera (of all places) in Orlando. I held the door for him, he was there with his family and baby, he was walking out with his baby and I said 'Go Raptors' to him and he chuckled. I guess he still lives in Orlando in the offseason - I wish I'd said go Suns now! From a basketball standpoint, I think Turk is perfect in an up and down system. He also is underrated as a defender and can guard multiple positions. He really clashed with the Raptors who basically promised him a big starting role, then started bringing him off the bench and using him off the ball. Childress will be a nice role player and maybe will be groomed to replace G. Hill.

Sure, but being proactive instead of reactive is the last thing I expected considering how this off season was going.

We're gonna need to Slin, if this roster is going to purr offensively like it did last season. You should know that without Amare's post presence last season we don't even sniff the WCF....probably not even the playoffs.

Al Jefferson should be the SUNS target at this point in time. We can get by at SG with Hill,Childress for one season in the event that JRich gets moved.

I don't think anyone can underestimate how good of a defender/rebounder Childress is. He will lead our team in steals this year easily.

There will likely be other 4s available during the season. Suns have flexibility and should be in a good spot to make a move around the trade deadline. They have a trade exception and a huge expiring deal.

my hope now is that the suns stay in the hunt for a top 4 seed and around the trade deadline go for Monte Ellis once the Warriors realize that Lee is a goat and regret giving him his contract.

More likely though is we may see big Al here. he'd even out out lineup and provide some solid inside presence

I really like Childress defensively. He has the length and quickness that prevented Bell from being an elite defender but all the instincts and awareness.
