so apparently Lonzo and Kuzma are both about to drop rap tracks slamming each other.

No way LeBron goes to that team if the Ball show is still around, IMO. In the immortal words of Roger Murtaugh: He's too old for this $&!%!

I'm pretty sure this is because they are really good friends. That said, I do not endorse this:

I think the logic is if he goes to the Lakers, so will Paul George. I don't know who they move then, probably Randle or Ingram. So they'd be looking at something like LeBron, George, Caldwell-Pope, Ball and Ingram or Randle with Lopez and some bench guys. Good size and length to switch, not sure they have enough shooters although both George and Caldwell-Pope are good shooters. That's clearly a playoff team.

I guess the debate is will they be good enough to get past Houston and Golden State before LeBron gets too old?

Caldwell-Pope and Lopez are free agents.

Yep, even with Paul are they any better than last year's Cavs?

I think they are better than the Cavs were, that's not hard, but I doubt the Lakers with LBJ AND George are good enough to get past the Warriors. Maybe LBJ will just say screw it and go to the Lakers anyway and try to build the team and take a shot at GSW two years from now.

you sure about that? living in LA and listening to the radio, I thought I remembered hearing reports of friction between them, especially when Lavar was just trashing Luke and Lonzo went fetal while Kuzma definitely stood up for him and that behind the scenes, they weren't so cool.

they're better than the Cavs, but still not good enough to take more than 2 games against the Warriors and even that's a stretch.

I'll be honest, I don't really get the amount of love George gets. I think to go up against the Warriors, he's a very solid #3 of a big 3, but if he's your #2? They probably still struggle mightily against Houston... until Chris Paul inevitably pulls a hammy.

The Lakers fans I know like Kuzma more.

I'm definitely not sure; just seemed like the likely explanation. I did cursory research and it seems like it was meant to be lighthearted. Josh Hart has a joking tweet about waiting for Kuzma's response, for instance, and the song is not exactly Pusha T going after Drake's dying friend. If it weren't a joke, given that the track already came out, I assume it would also be a much bigger story.

He's a terrific defender which has value but I think he's also as you said not a #1 guy. With LeBron that doesn't matter he's the #2 and I don't think it matters. he'd get so many more good shots playing with LBJ than he did with Westbrook and Melo.

Wow. Totally wack. Lonzo Ball is such a freaking joke.

Yeah even though they do have a friendly rivalry thing going on that's way over the top. I googled it apparently Lonzo made a comment about Kuzma not knowing his dad, that's just over a line IMO.

I know Kuzma has taken playful shots at Gelo and Melo online but sure sounds like Lonzo crossed the line with this one.

Listening to that I’d be shocked if that’s just cool.

IMO Playoff P struggles with consistency.

Here is an article that breaks down how the Lakers could potentially trade for Kawhi, sign Lebron, and sign Paul George once Kawhi and Lebron are Lakers already, this offseason. I doubt it happens, I hope it doesn't, but at the same time I'd be for it because it could break up the Warriors early. The Lakers will not stay on top that long because of Lebron's age. I can't see him getting better and better, still, he is human and will start succumbing to Father Time. There are two ways they could create that big 3 also, with Deng's contract being stuck with them or without. I doubt it happens, but who knows. It is more interesting than some other scenarios and this actually factors in the salary cap overall and how each deal would change things some. No players would be leaving money on the table though or accepting discounts. The only financial concessions made of the big 3 would be Leonard waiving his 15% trade kicker bonus, which may happen anyways if he gets traded where he wants. Those sort of bonuses are waived occasionally if the player gets sent to a team they actually wanted to go to. I can't see that holding anything up.

I hope his decline starts immediately after signing with the Lakers.

Does anyone seriously think Lakers with LeBron and George can beat the Warriors in a 7 game series?

Why is LeBron doing this....he won’t even make it to the Finals anymore like he had been for 8 straight years!

I think it's odd people are even asking that. No one really dissects other free agent moves like Lebron's and when he went back to Cleveland, no one over analyzed them that much either. Since it's been hinted he'll leave Cleveland, again, the only question anyone asks is "How does he win more titles there?" No other player has those sort of expectations around them. With Lebron, everyone thinks he'll only go to a team that is Championship ready and there are few teams in the league that are. Maybe he's ok not killing himself to return to the Finals for just 1 year. He's been to 8 in row. Some rest might do him wonders. In the last 8 years he's basically played 11 or 12 regular seasons because of all the extra playoff games, which is insane. Maybe he's tired of being the team's GM and coach also and just wants to play? He's not passing Jordan in total titles, that's got to be a reality now. So why kill himself trying? Most Lebron supporters put him ahead of MJ in the GOAT discussion already. So how many more titles would actually help that conversation?

I know it doesn't make a ton of sense to go to a rebuilding team at this point in his career but it's better to come up short with the Lakers while helping turn things around for that franchise than continue losing NBA finals in Cleveland. He's 33 years old, how many more years will he play anyways? Wade is on the verge of retirement, Melo isn't far behind Wade, and Bosh is done also. He's the only guy left from his draft class. He's playing at an MVP level still but how long can he expect to continue doing so while playing 100 games a year? Especially in a losing effort, ultimately.

Ingram is younger than Booker and has just as much upside if not more. He would be a great fit with Lebron. If I’m Lebron i sign and tell them to wait until 2019 to sign Kawhi. Tell Paul George thanks but no thanks.
