Donald, Matt Leinart is 24 years old. At 24, character is already formed. To borrow a much overused cliche, he is what he is.
Spin it over and over, it changes nothing. Can he develop into a good NFL QB? Of course. He has talent. That has nothing to do with character.
Bill Romanowski, Michael Vick, Ray Lewis and many many many other great players are scum. (Not implying Matt is scum. He's not) Frankly, it doesn't matter in terms of football.
I will say this: I think it's clear Matt Leinart despises Whisenhunt. Given that, Leinart is probably not our QBOF. The coach/QB relationship must be better than that for it to work.
If the relationship improves quickly, good. If it festers as time goes on, it will be severed. We'll know by spring 2008 when off-season workouts take place.
That's what I believe.
