Good Riddance.....like I said and I know Barkley isn't the solution, but we couldn't even trust him last year-we had to go out and sign someone off of someone else's practice squad in our potentially best regular season ever. He was decent against grocery baggers but I would have actually preferred Sims-to me he had some upside but I guess we will never know.
And then sort of OT: RT @senorjessroot: Harold Jones-Quartey also claimed by Chicago Bears.
Damnit, I really wanted him on the squad. Hate how we cutted HJQ & Shipley, but keep Golden & injury-prone Troy Nikglass.
What isn't fair about your statement is that we couldn't trust him last year. Even BA admitted that he never envisioned playing LT, which is why once the season started and LT was running the scout team, he never got reps in BA's offense.
How can he run the offense if he wasn't getting reps?
How can you say he hasn't at least somewhat fixed the accuracy issue when he hasn't had hardly any inaccurate throws throughout the whole preseason. He was a mistake draft pick...He was over-drafted and should have never been taken. We all know about his accuracy problems in college-that is something that was never going to be fixed. I could have seen drafting him and maybe have him make a position change (TE maybe?).
I'm sorry to say Mitch-the guy couldn't even beat out the warmed over garbage Ryan Lindley to lead this team last season. BA tried to give him reps and then went and got Lindley-we all remember this. I honestly thought he would have been cut last year but he is a decent athlete. I am glad he is gone-that way we can start looking for our next QBOF..... EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE here knew and knows now that he WAS NEVER GOING TO BE THAT!!!
But hey, we've still got Nickedglass and SOWELL!!!!!

Because there are also things called mini camps, OTAs, and training camp, and reports are that he was plenty inaccurate at those. How can you say he hasn't at least somewhat fixed the accuracy issue when he hasn't had hardly any inaccurate throws throughout the whole preseason.
Still accomplished that against 3-4 stringers. I trust the HC & I still don't think the kid can run an NFL offense against competent NFL players.
What does that have to do with throwing accurately? Sure it would be harder to make the correct reads and throw to the right guy against more talented defenders, but an accurate throw is an accurate throw.Still accomplished that against 3-4 stringers. I don't care who you are as a QB---if you are a rookie and you have been running the scout team and at Week 12 you now get reps in your own offense which you are still trying to learn and haven't gotten any reps for 13 weeks---how could he have pulled that off? The HC even admitted to this, which is why he didn't want to throw LT to the wolves.
This PS he gets reps and plays well in 3 of the 4 games---the last two leading the team from behind to win. It's not like he was failing miserably in the games. In fact, going 9/10 for 116 yards and a TD at Denver was superb, especially for a developmental QB.
I guess I am one of the few who recognized the talents and the potential---i never counted him out and this pre-season was encouraging, I felt. I even loved the read options he ran at the end of the Broncos' game. What I love about him is he's fearless---he's not some nervous Nellie in the pocket the likes of which we have been all too familiar with...even Stanton looks a little jittery to me. But, like Carson Palmer, LT had no problem standing tall and hanging in the pocket.
Who else is a developmental player to face?
