And then we could run the TE screen, backwards, and let Teyo throw deep to Fitz so he could get open!
Hmmm.... On the flea flicker he had two guys right on him.
We may need even more trickery.

Teyo has a major arm, he was a highschool QB, they say he can throw 75+ yards.

That'll probably just let the DB catch up to Fitz though.

11, what was the name of the TE we had that was basically a big, slow WR? We cut him after we signed Freddie? WHY CAN"T I REMEMBER!?!?!

I know exactly who you're talking about.
I'll think of it around 3:00 am.

Tywan Mitchell??

Is that it? That sounds close, but not quite. C'mon, someone on here has to have a six-year-old Cardinal media guide at hand.

Think of Michael Vick as another Marshall Faulk - only he can also pass.

Gap discipline becomes crucial. And not being so tentative breaking down that he jukes you.

I'd guess we should find ways to make him throw rather than scramble.

But let's also not forget that the Falcones are not a one-dimensional team. They have a better pass rush than we do, got Booker in a trade and have Dunn and Duckett (I believe) to lug the ball on the ground).

Before he is through Michael Vick should surpass Billy Kilmer as the all time leading rushing QB. Your comparison with Faulk is on the money except I think Vick is faster and he really does have a rocket arm which most people do not realize.

Bingo, I remembered the last name but not the first.

Man, that guy couldn't block a barrell cactus. He was like Mikhel Ricks before there was a Mikhel Ricks.

Speaking of which, is he still available...?

Another key to the game: Josh McCown must take chances downfield. The Falcons have a big, physical cornerback in Aaron Beasley (6', 205) to match up with Fitz or Bryant Johnson. Jason Webster and Kevin Mathis play big, but these guys aren't fast, and their safeties (Corey Hall and Bryan Scott) are below-average.

Bryan Scott is not below average. In fact, if he continues to play like he did in the first two games he will have a sure ticket to the pro-bowl. The guy has been on fire.

I will agree that Atlanta's secondary is their weak link. They have been playing way over their head though. Don't know if it is the opposition, or if the coaches have coached them up.

A guy to watch on the defensive line is DT Chad Lavalias. The rookie out of LSU who worked as a prison guard for a while. He was predicted by some to be a late 1st/early 2nd round pick but fell to the 5th round. He's playing like a 1st rounder. Not putting up much in the way of stats. What he is doing is drawing consistent double teams. That is freeing up the other d-linemen and linebackers.

Atlanta doesn't have the wideouts to win a shootout yet.

I agree Atlanta's wideouts are as good as the Cards, but they are good. Plus, Atlanta is loaded with offensvie weapons.

QB - Vick
WR - Price, White, Finneran - quality guys that work well in the system.
TE - Crumpler - one of the best pass catching TE's around. He's on track to go back to the pro-bowl the way he is playing.
RB - Dunn, Duckett - Both former 1st round picks. Dunn is an excellent receiving RB.
FB - Griffith - If you don't know his name now, you will before the game is over. Has had two great games. Excellent receiver out of the backfield. Is sort of a RB/FB tweener. Acts as much as a 2nd RB in Atlanta's offense as he does a FB.

The Falcons use Dunn, Griffith, and Crumpler a lot for short dump off passes. And all are great at gaining yards after the catch.

The dilema in defensing Atlanta is that they simply have one too many offensive weapons to defend against. If you put a spy on Vick, that usually frees up the Dunn, Griffith or Crumpler. If you don't put a spy on Vick, Vick does his stuff and burns you.
