Just realized something:

1954 Girl Soldier's name: ELLIE

Ms. Hawking's first name: ELOISE (old woman with Ben)

Faraday's rat's name: ELOISE

Hmmmm....
She was also with Desmond in his dream/time travel episodes...

But yeah, I'm pretty sure that is one in the same.

Anybody else guess that that was Charles Whitmore? As soon as he was ready to cut off Juliet's hand and was sporting a British accent I was calling that one. There must have been a power struggle between Whitmore and Richard/the original others. Man do I love this show.

Yup - I figured it was him as soon as the British accent got going.

Best show on TV by far - writing, acting, production quality, all fronts - lots of fun as they plow toward the end of the series in Season 6.

Happy Lost Day!!! :)

I'm trying hard not to do any math or mental heavy lifting before I watch this show, but one of my co-workers just asked me to explain the basics of proprietary codecs in digital video. I fear I may not make it to the halfway mark tonight. Might need to wear a helmet.

Another Great episode.

JIN IS BACK!!!

But 16 years in the past, with Danielle.

I think Jin is time hopping with the other islanders.

They are currently 16 years in the past also, both in the same storm. Poor guy has been time floating on a board through multiple jumps.

I want to know how Ben is going to prove that Jin is alive, though.

Is it next Wednesday yet?

Jin is alive--called it! And even though we all knew Rousseau's team would make an appearance this season, it didn't lessen the "YES!" moment when she told Jin her name.

And Sun is turning into a bad-ass. Don't mess with the Korean woman!

Did every major character except Desmond appear in this episode?

So if the Losties can see themselves while time hopping and the rest of the group (Rose, Bernard, etc) were always looking for the campsite did they see themselves or run into themselves?

Also how can Hurley be cleared of the initial murder with plans of his release but the murders of the other guys with video of Hurley covered in blood (ketchup) and holding a gun not be enough to continue to hold him?

I love that Sun has turned into a bad ass. And I love that Jack is still being fooled by Ben. The whole "he's trying to take Aaron" thing and Jack saying it wasn't true was great.

I knew Jin was alive from day one. I never thought they would kill off his character the way they did. I was curious to figure out though how they would explain away where he was. It's amazing he is still alive though. He has been traveling through time with the rest of them. However, he has been doing so while floating on a piece of reckage.

Agree with Sun's change. Giving her a backbone has been really been a great change with her character.

I can't wait for the explanation on how Whitmore was banished from the island or how they all end up back on the island. Man I love this show.

I started thinking about something the other day. Does anybody remember that transcript from one of the episodes where one of the characters ran into themselves in or near the Hatch? There was a lot of speculation about twins. I think there was some talk of time travel, but we now know that's what it was.

I'm hoping the next episode will explain why Danielle killed the rest of her crew. The way she described it in season one it was some sort of disease that they contracted nearer or at the Black rock.

Wednesday can't come soon enough.

I am really looking forward to that as well. I gotta think he tried to rise to power or something and then he got shipped off.

Yeah. She said they all got sick, I think. It was weird to see a young Danielle, all pretty, happy and full of life. Guess solitude on an island for a bunch of years can really change a person, lol.

So how come when Danielle saw Jin in the camp in season 1 she didn't recognize him?

So how come when Danielle saw Jin in the camp in season 1 she didn't recognize him?

There are a few explanations that make sense.

1) Danielle is insane and it HAS been 16 years, after all. And for all intents and purposes, why would she recognize him? She never appeared to know anything about the time travel properties of the island, so she would never have thought that he was the very same person she found on the beach 16 years earlier.

2) She never really saw or interacted with Jin at all. Thinking back, I remember her in the camp, but I don't remember Jin being present in her major scenes and certainly not when she was hiking with a group of Losties.

Another possibility is that if the O6 ever make it back, and that stops the time-travel, all the "time jumps" will have never happened.

I can't believe that will happen. Then it will seem like Season 5 is all just a dream. And I can't see the writers going that direction.

Y'all need to read A Wrinkle in Time. The writers have not kept their fascination with that book a secret.

Lost is at a crossroads. Tonight's episode made it pretty clear. They've run out of backstory to tell, and they're adding bit characters here in there to fill in the plot holes while taking advantage of the opportunity to give them another story to tell. Problem is they're not primary players, so I'm not certain I could ever care as much about Faraday/Charlotte as I ever did about Desmond/Penny. They're giving it screen time, though. Good for them for not straying far from the format.

Just hoping they don't race to the finish. I'd much rather them take their time and enthrall me with their insight into the human condition along the way. It wouldn't be Lost any other way.
