Seriously? The song was in Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971).

That was an awesome allusion, too. These guys are unashamed to tap into everything from their childhood. ;)

Great way to pit Jack and Sawyer back against each other. That was a great scene. Solid episode. Season is hitting it's stride. Not a record pace, but a winning pace.

Can Desmond be "the chosen one"? Are all of the other "candidates" just decoys to lure alt-Locke away from Desmond?

Desmond has chance-coincidental meetings with almost everyone - before and after the island - Jack, Libby, Eloise, Widmore, Hurley, Claire, etc.

Did Widmore and Eloise know this all along and that is why they insisted for him to go to the island and be shunned to make him go on his sojourn?

When the Sarah Palin girl walked into camp right before they launched the missile as a warning I was half expecting that fake Locke was going to push her down the well with Desmond and yell "this is Sparta" or something.

That was pretty good last night but I wish they'd quit splitting up the groups and then when almost all back together, split them again. Just seems like they're using the same trick to create more drama when they have enough going on as it is.

Is it only 4 left total or 4 left before the finale?

So Jack and Claire switch places, and now Jack is the 'pathetic' one who believes he needs to stay on the island for a purpose.

Didn't Jack's dead dad appear to him off the island? With the reveal that the smoke monster was parading around as Christain, how did he get off the island? If he can't get off the island now? Wasn't he on the ship too?

Theoretically, Jack was going insane and on heavy duty narcotics, so I doubt that was the smoke monster.

Unless they never really left the island.

*duh duh duh duhhhhhh*

Once again, if FLocke says it, it's a lie.

So if Flocke is lying to Jack about appearing as Christain, then who or what is shapeshifting as the dead Christian and making appearances off island (happended twice that I can remember)?

The difference here with Hugo and the other examples, is that supposedly Flocke can't leave the island. Yet a dead person has made appearances off island.

Who or what is doing that? Jacob?

FLocke lying makes a lot of sense. That being the REAL Christian also makes a lot of sense, since we learned two weeks ago that the dead people Hurley sees are the spirits of people who can't leave the island.

Anyone want to guess what's going on with Sayid's story arc? They made him a (semi) soulless killer in all time frames now and pissed on his original redemption. Now are they redeeming him again?

The big question with him is what did he do with Desmond, and why wasn't he with Flocke when they came across Jack on the beach after he jumped ship?

Then again, maybe it's a plot hole, because--you know, the writers suck.

That's referring to cheesebeef, who in every post berates the writers. General tongue-in-cheek sarcasm.

Ahhhh. Because my hero worship of the writers is pretty explicit. Just checking. :D

huh? I love the show but it doesn't change the way I know they write it. Sorry guys, but there are just a lot of plot holes in this sucker. doesn't make the show any less entertaining to me, but it doesn't allow me to deify the writers like Gad does.

every post I berate the writers... Jesus Chap. Whatever issue you have with me, get over it already dude.

seriously dude? I said they write backwards and it leads to plot holes. I also love the show regardless of it because they're usually damn good at doing so. But if you want to pick fights... in the TV forum of all places... well, then do what you will. I hope you can get over whatever issue it is you have with me because this kind of stuff, putting words into my mouth, whatever, is just not necessary. We're talking about a TV show for pete sake.

If Jack jumping off the sailboat was live and not special effects he almost killed himself. His head missed the side of the boat by a foot max.

It's OK, cheesy. You're not a believer. I get it. Means you're going to hell, but I love you anyway.
