I particularly like the part when the blonde was sun-bathing. :p

I was totally thinking last night "damn, she is HOT!" I would pay obscene amounts of money to be that hot!

But I digress. I think part of the reason no one was looking for Claire was because they needed to move everything in because of the high tide and perhaps Charlie realized that Locke was still looking for her. Agree about the gun thing. Why not go out and look for her then? I mean, hell, I'd want someone looking for me!

Was surprised about Kate's past. She seems like she was very manipulative in her past, but is she that way now? Who knows? I also agree that we don't know if it was the plane in the safety deposit box or not. Did seem weird that she was so obsessed with it all. I want to know more.

I didn't realize that the Asian woman was still pretending like she didn't speak English. Am wondering how her overhearing the conversation with Kate and the doc will work in.

Locke is getting weird. Wonder what they found and why he clocks hot young guy over the head in the next episode.

Looks like hot young chick and Said will hook up soon. Good for them. Everyone needs a little action.

I wonder how Sun will react towards Kate now??

Also - interesting tidbit I picked up:
The flight number of the plane that crashed: 815
The bank safety deposit box number that Kate wanted: 815

Then there is the fact that the lyrics Danielle had written over and over were from a French song that translated was used in "Finding Nemo", which had Nemo being kidnapped to Sydney. Sydney is where the flight originated :)

Okay, Mike. Get ready to break out your

This is from my friend, Julie.

The song that was on the map was Bobby Darin's Under the Sea. Here's the French translation:

La mer
Qu'on voit danser le long des golfes clairs
A des reflets d'argent
La mer
Des reflets changeants
Sous la pluie

La mer
Au ciel d'été confond
Ses blancs moutons
Avec les anges si purs
La mer bergère d'azur
Infinie

Voyez
Près des étangs
Ces grands roseaux mouillés
Voyez
Ces oiseaux blancs
Et ces maisons rouillées

La mer
Les a bercés
Le long des golfes clairs
Et d'une chanson d'amour
La mer
A bercé mon cœur pour la vie

And here's the English translation:

The sea
which one sees dancing along the clear gulfs
to sparkles of silver.
The sea
Of changing sparkles
Under the rain.

The sea
Confuses the summer sky's sheep
With angels so pure.
The sea
Shepherdess of blue infinity.

Look!
Next to the ponds
Those tall wet reeds.
Look!
Those white birds
And those rusty houses

The Sea
Has rocked them
Along the clear gulfs.
The Sea
Has rocked my heart for life.

It was on a map, right? Could they be DIRECTIONS?????

Am I the only one who thinks it's REALLY WEIRD that no one is going after the pregnant girl???

Wouldn't you think the entire male community would get up in arms, get weapons made, and trudge out there and find her?

And then suddenly Jack has guns in his possession from the suitcase...and nothing it mentioned about using them to find the kidnapper(s)...

Doesn't make sense to me...I don't see how people would leave her to her demise like that...

I have to say...this episode was a little slow and boring last night...disappointed :(

Mike

I said that to Lucy while watching, it was as if the episodes were out of order. All of a sudden they're talking about the monster again, and ignoring that Claire was kidnapped.

Great show again though.

Wow...nice....

So what did everyone think?

Crazy episode...did Boone hallucinate because of what Locke gave him? Or when he said "Is that what it showed you?" or something like that...was he talking about the Island itself?

Lots of clips of the other castaways this episode...good to see.

Boone in the police station when Sawyer goes by...crossovers before the flight are starting to happen.

Remember the Truman Show with Jim Carrey? Or maybe it was another movie...but anyway...would be interesting if opening that hatch is something like Jim Carrey opening that door to walk out of this makeshift world/prison into the real world...

That's why they can't get off the island...

Interesting...

I think it was very evident Locke knows about the island. And he wanted the kid to see it too.

What a great episode. When he said he felt relieved man that was a great scene with Locke.\\

Edit:

oh btw is it me or does it seem all the survivors were people who didnt want to be going where the plane was going? Except for the cop who died shortly after i guess.

Super episode! I was totally believing that what Boone saw was for real. Never saw it coming that he hooked up with his step sister. She seems like a real bitch when, prior to this episode, I felt a little sorry for her.

I wonder what Locke meant when he said to Boone, "we'll need them on our side" when he was talking about the hatch and telling the others.

Loved that the Korean lady planted a garden. That looked like fun!

Awesome episode.

Loved the 'Survivor reference by Hurley after he stepped on the sea urchin: "Pee on my leg - I saw it on TV"

I had a feeling a first that Boone was hallucinating when he first heard Shannon scream, been then started to believe it was real, until the "no blood" remark by Locke. They really screw with how you feel about Locke during the episode!

Interesting as well to see Sawyer in the police station.

Love seeing Sun and Jin - great interaction.

*****SPOILERS*****

Great episode, but I was so pissed when Shannon died. :hulk:

So relieved when she wasn't dead.

I now think that the "beast" is a figment of imagination. It is the fear that the people have within themselves. (But then why did the pilot get eaten by it?)

*sigh* I don't know.

Locke seems to have everything figured out - from the forecasting of the rain, to Boone's capture, his wheelchair, the hunting, etc.

The flashback of Boone and Shannon was pretty cool - it showed why he hated her so much. I don't blame him. At first I thought his character was pretty weak and underdeveloped, but they surely have changed that.

Hurley cracked me up - "Just pee on it!" :biglaugh:

I read somewhere that when he auditioned, they created his character especially for him.

Man, I love this show.

They also all seem to have some big skeleton in their closet which brings up the whole purgatory angle again. The doctor (father killed the patient), Kate(killed the man she loved), Boone and his half sister doing the deed, Sawyer, Sayid having been in the Republican guard. We don't know yet what Locke's was, the guy who barely knew his son his "sin" could be that.

I'm still also really wondering where Hurley fits into all this(besides just being funny)?

WTF - the previews for next week's show looks like a rerun when Sayid was captured by the French fry.

Another good episode last night - the character development in this show is fantastic. The background on Walt and Michael was very interesting and sad.

I am beginning to think that the kid may have had something to do with the crash.

Yeah, I brought that up here a long time ago.

Didn't realize that one.

I noticed that too.

While on the one hand, I think it's a cool idea to inextricably link all the goings-on to one child, I worry that makes things too limiting and too pat. I guess the same could be said for Claire's baby. Should it be omni-important?

One of the cool things about this show so far is that there are so many pokers in the fire.

bravo

I am loving this show more and more every week.

From the Jan 23 TVGuide with another Desperate Housewives cover:

The Ausiello Report
by Michael Ausiello

X-Files Star Gets Lost
Here's a bombshell about an upcoming episode of ABC's Lost. "We actually have stunt casting," executive producer Carlton Cuse proclaims. No, Ricardo Montalban isn't washing ashore. Rather, X-Files star Robert Patrick will appear in flashbacks next month as Sawyer's (Josh Holloway) precrash partner in crime. Look for the duo's mainland misdaventures to become one of Lost's many recurring subplots. "We thought this could almost be like a little show-within-a-show," Cuse says. "We could sort of revisit Sawyer's past and see these two con men [in action]." In the meantime, I gotta know if there's any truth to rumors that a castaway's gonna get whacked this season. "That's probably going to hapen," Cuse teases. "And it's going to be someone you're invested in." That's what I was afraid of.

Well so far both Shannon and Charlie have died.
