As much as some people complain about it, I love the backstory stuff...it's made you know the characters even more, on such a deeper level...

Wayward...what domicile are you talking about?

Where the crazy french woman was keeping Sayid, where she lived (I suppose). I mean, when she left him to go after whatever was out there, didn't she climb a ladder to get out?

Wow - intense episode!

I thought Charlie would survive - but when they first gave up, I was stunned, and a little "emotional" - like they CAN'T do that.

Great cliffhanger to keep us talking......

Mine too, hands down.

Anyone else think Sawyer was going to kick the hell out of Sayid? I sure did.

Locke is great!

And yes, I thought Sawyer was going to kick Sayid's butt. Sawyer is getting more likeable the past couple of episodes.

BTW - no new episodes until January, I believe.

They only shot 9 episodes in the first run. After the great ratings, ABC upped for the rest of the season - the are still shooting in Hawaii.

We will probably see less of the beach - notice Sawyer's comment to Sayid about the high tide carrying off the fuselage?

Yeah I thought the same thing, she was climbing up a ladder to go get whatever was making all the noise when she had Sayid captive.

The only part I didn't like is it's just hard to believe Jack can fall down a hill right by Kate, land, argue and fight with Ethan, and Kate doesn't see or hear any of it?

Great episode though.

Probably done so that we wonder if it happened at all.

yeah, I read that its going bye-bye. Probably better so they can change shooting locations if they want to.

I think that there was more time elapsed than you think - remember - Jack fell down the hill, while Kate would have taken her time (so she wouldn't fall).

OK guys we have been avoiding it. Im interested in what Jon thinks especially.

What did Locke and that other guy find at the end? Thoughts/guesses?

See Waywards post a few back - could it be where Danielle lives?

Dude, it could be anything really...

One thing though, not sure if it was posted here or not, but i found out on the Tivo board...

1. The kid at the start of the show was reading a comic book with a polar bear on the cover...then a polar bear appeared later.

2. He wanted his dad to look for the dog, but his dad said after it stops raining...suddenly it stops raining.

3. Last night, he got every roll of the dice he was wishing for...

Cue Twlight Zone music here...

Yeah, I brought that up here a long time ago.

Didn't realize that one.

I noticed that too.

While on the one hand, I think it's a cool idea to inextricably link all the goings-on to one child, I worry that makes things too limiting and too pat. I guess the same could be said for Claire's baby. Should it be omni-important?

One of the cool things about this show so far is that there are so many pokers in the fire.

I don't think they are all linked to him, it's just one thing about him that's interesting...could just be related to a lot of things on the island...

I haven't read the book or seen the movie in awhile, but isn't this kind of like Sphere by Michael Crichton?

I don't remember the whole premise either but I think after they entered the "sphere," their thoughts were somehow manifested into real life.

Locke said it would rain in one minute, it did.

If I'm not mistaken the French woman mentioned polar bears so it's likely they were on the island before the boy and his comic?

There does seem to be some element of what you think about arriving. jack and his dad, Locke being able to walk, the dog showing up etc.

And yes it is somewhat similar to Sphere, I hope the payoff is better that was one of Crichton's weaker books IMHO.

Yeah the squid attack was something one of the characters was thinking of for example.

Don't forget - Claire is kidnapped - do they want her, or her baby? Maybe kids are more in tune with the Island?

The Polar Bear on the comic - I think that was a red herring to get us talking, since Danielle knew about the polar bear, so it wasn't just conjured from the kid's mind. But yes, he does seem to get what he wants.

Lucy was thinking that they want the baby because whatever made them sick affects children worse than it does adults. The psychic saying she had to raise the baby herself, maybe he somehow didn't know if he sent her on a plane that would crash she'd end up on an island where the baby would be kidnapped?

I gotta say while that plotline is pretty juicy living where i live it's just a bit too close to Laci Peterson it made me a bit uncomfortable to run all the possibilities through my brain.

'Lost' Crushes 'Clay'-tastrophe

More viewers than ever found "Lost" Wednesday as the ABC thriller soared to its best ratings yet -- crushing NBC's much-hyped Clay Aiken special in the process.

Midseason finale of "Lost," which (temporarily) killed off a main character, averaged a stunning 18.9 million viewers and a 7/19 among adults 18-49, according to prelim national Nielsen data. In addition to achieving personal best numbers, "Lost" beat the young adults scores of CBS, NBC and Fox in the 8 p.m. timeslot and gave network TV its best 8 p.m. drama demos since the series finale of "Beverly Hills, 90210" in 2000.

NBC's decision to air its "Clay Aiken Christmas Special" opposite the last original episode of "Lost" -- rather than wait a week, when the ABC smash will be in repeats -- proved to be a disaster. Oddly-produced hour -- which abandoned traditional Christmas special schmaltz in favor of a jarring "special within a special" format -- earned a measly 2/5 in adults 18-49. That's even worse than previous timeslot duds "Hawaii" (2.5/7) and "LAX" (2.1/6), or Fox's own low-rated Aiken-less "American Idol" holiday hour.
