Hmm, I don't know a single thing about this kid. Any scouting reports? I'm intrigued.

Big Kid (6-5 245 lbs), Big Arm, Small school (Fordham).

The big 4 QB stats(comp%, TD/INT Ratio, Rating, Yards per Attempt) all went up every year he started, meaning improvement and growth. All ending up with good but not great numbers.

The best competition he has ever played against is Holy Cross. Hasn't had a winning record in two years.

Chopper, you realize that, no matter how hard Tebow has tried, no matter what level of dedication he has shown in the past or will show in the future, he has not been able to fix the mechanics of his throwing motion. He drops the ball TO HIS HIP before throwing it. And that's without all of his other blemishes at the QB position. He'd lose 3-4 fumbles a game, easily, with that kind of throwing motion in the NFL. Add n his other warts, and I'll pass on him as a QB.

Now, tell me I can nab him in Rd 5 and convert him to a FB/HB/TE hybrid, and I'm game.

See, I have never heard of any of his coaches trying to correct his ball placement because it has never been an issue. This is pretty typical of athletic QB's because their coaches stress that if things break down they should just run. It is the same with Tebow. He has also never had the time to sit and just focus on fixing his mechanics. This is not something that can be done in a college offseason.

Despite our differences regarding Tebow Stout, do you agree that we should probably draft a QB this year as future insurance?

Oh, we absolutely need to draft a QB. I say we sign a solid vet backup, give Lionheart the reigns, and draft a project QB to groom and develop. I just don't want that QB to be Tebow ;)

Im ok if it is Tebow as long as its the 3rd round or later. He's an intriguing project.

Tebow did not look good in the Senior bowl yesterday.

Lets stay away from all the hype and go in another direction with drafting a QB.

I'd go with Mike Kafka out of Northwestern ahead of Tebow. And you could get him a lot cheaper!

Boo on Kafka! I'm a Big Ten fan. I've said it before and I'll keep saying it--Kafka is not an NFL QB! He's a running QB that has a great repertoire of throws...from ten yards and in. And that's about it.

I remember not too long ago we were at the draft party we were all keeping our fingers crossed saying, hey he just might drop to us. When it happened the crowd went completely out of control. High fives were all over the place. Glasses were clunked. We made it, look out here we come! With the next pick ny the Arizona Cardinals they take Matt Lienart.

IMO we should pick up a FA QB that will give Matt some competition. Drafting a QB in the late rounds would be okay with me. Or maybe, just maybe we can pick up the next Kurt Warner packing sheles in a grocery store.

I haven't seen him play a lot. I saw him in the Shrine game and he made some decent throws and decisions. He was interviewed and had a good head on his shoulders. He's a late round flyer probability.

Are there better one's this year.......hard to guage? We may not have the luxury of taking one in the 3/4th round. Who do you like in the 5th maybe?

I like the kid from Central Michigan, Dan LeFevour. He played pretty decent yesterday and probably moved up a little in draft projections. I'd feel much better about him as a 3rd rounder than Tebow.

Maybe that Skelton kid, but I don't know at this point. If we haven't taken one at all, maybe we can snag Daryl Clark in the 7th lol

I just have seen Kafka play in very competitive games, and did not see a pro QB, or a QB that looks like he'll make it in the pros.

I've made it obvious of my man love for LeFevour. His completion % was crap, but he did throw for 1 TD and ran for another while passing for more yards than any other North QB. Overall, the North's box score for QBs was rather unimpressive.

Still a proponent for taking him in the 3rd round if he is available.

Tebow did not look good in the Senior bowl yesterday.

Lets stay away from all the hype and go in another direction with drafting a QB.

Here you go.

Tebow came to Mobile, Ala., with a chance to prove he can be an effective NFL quarterback, but if he could go back in time, he likely would choose not to come to the Senior Bowl. Tebow did show good arm strength, handled the media frenzy well and even played through a case of strep throat, but he also put all his weaknesses on display in a setting that did nothing but magnify them. In a group of merely adequate quarterback prospects, Tebow ranked near the bottom, and we walk away from Mobile believing he might never be an NFL quarterback. He will have to be torn down and rebuilt from the ground up to have a chance, and we cannot remember one NFL quarterback who had to retool his entire game before finding success in the NFL. Teams that might have been considering Tebow in the late first or somewhere in the second round now have to re-evaluate.
We have not spoken to a single talent evaluator who believes Tebow can develop into the kind of quarterback Mark Sanchez, Matthew Stafford or Joe Flacco is right now. The learning curve is just too steep in almost every area. We cannot find a way to give him any higher than a third-round grade, and even then we envision him as nothing more than a Wildcat or short-yardage quarterback who could move to H-back. Overall, Senior Bowl week could not have gone worse from an on-the-field standpoint.

I will say this...if there's a coach in the NFL who could utilize Tebow's talents as a part of his scheme, it's Whiz. If Tebow is still on the board later on in the draft, I could very well see Whiz take him and start to utilize him as a Wildcat QB and situational H-back.

Theismann says Tebow should have retired

Theismann thinks that Tebow should have retired after his college football career ended.

"Rock star status preserved," Theismann said.

"Obviously at Florida they don't teach throwing the football," Theismann opined in explaining that Tebow's mechanics are "poor." Theismann also said that Urban Meyer and his staff have "no clue" regarding the process for preparing a quarterback to play "at the next level."

Not their job, I guess. Theeseman has a point. See Alex Smith.
