Has anyone else figured out Gannon's tell?

When he gets a question that requires thought on how to answer, he takes a drink.
As you should. Giving yourself more time to answer a question that requires thought is a good thing. Are you implying that it is a bad thing?

I'm not implying good or bad...it's just interesting to note that when he does it, it's likely a question that may make him a little uncomfortable and requires a more calculated and measured response. Someone could use it to their advantage, I'm sure....Monti does similar. They would be much better to just take a pause at most or all questions, before answering and not go for the water bottle.

If it's attention to detail, if it's clearing old inventory, whatever. You just promoted new unis as the most positive thing that will happen this season (probably), and all of the features of your team are them wearing the old unis that everyone hated or thought were tired.

I don't really care what other teams do. This was an opportunity to spend a relative pittance and have your team look good. They ran out Thompson, Collins, et al to talk about how sick the new unis look and then handed them the ones that are headed to the trash anyway.

Its not a relative pittance. It's an actual pittance. It's probably less than the annual lettuce bill.

Not only that, but wearing them drives replica sales so makes money.

Which makes me 100% sure it's some other reason.

Poverty mindset is the simplest explanation.

It's the stupidest explanation devoid of any kind of logic.

You're supposition is that having gone through the process of designing a new uniform, creating promotional videos, having a launch event and all the costs that go along with that the team decided not to wear them at OTA's because they are cheap? They spent more money on chopper fuel flying Hump out to the desert to promote them but they are too cheap to buy them for camp? Even though they obviously have to buy them anyway?

Maybe, just maybe, there are factors you don't know about?

This is hilariously true and very emblematic of this franchise the last several years.

They can SEE where the problems are... but fixing them? That is another story.

... why would they NOT wear them?

Other than to save money, there is absolutely no reason they would NOT be wearing the new uniforms.

We are the only team, in all of football, that charged players to eat at the team facility. You think it's crazy that the team is too cheap to pay for new uniforms for training camp?

There is literally no other explanation than frugality.

And when you make the connection that it is the most frugal ownership in football... all one can say is... "duh".
