How does that make any sense? If Houston wa sinterested Manning would already have heard from them. Him visiting Denver isnt going to autonatically make Houston want to dump Schaub and go after Manning.

I would guess that he means Houston might see Denver, if they get Manning, making a leap to the upper echelons of the AFC, and thus becoming an obstacle to Houston's getting to a Super Bowl? So maybe Houston might then say, "well, dammit, we can't let THAT happen so maybe would should try & get Mannig for ourselves."

It was said tht Mort's sources (and Francesa said he had heard the same from multiple sources who he trusts) say that Houston would be Manning's #1 choice as they A) are a Super Bowl ready team, and perhaps give him the nest chance at winning now B) in the AFC, C) play in a dome, & D) close to Manning's New Orleans roots, and where his parents still live.

My opinion is if Manning really wanted Houston, he'd just call them himself (he doesn't seem like the type to play games), but maybe his agent is trying to keep some things a little under the radar?

I don't know,

Reports are that Manning chose to start with Denver because he is familiar with Fox and Elway.

I also don't see Denver being the place. Terrible weather, mediocre defense, and we all saw how the last pocket QB did in that offense right? I just don't see it.

It's AZ or Miami unless San Fran or Houston decides to jump in.

Denver had a top 12 defense. And out of those 12 they had the highest scoring D out of the 12.. They have 2 of the best pass rushers in teh NFL. Would hardly call them mediocre. Should only get better too.

The Denver Defense is the whole reason they made the playoffs. I think they are an above average defense that is young and getting better.

Just heard an ESPN report talking about how PM is doing is "due diligence". Said it was remarkable how he grilled Indy more than they asked him questions before the draft. Cards better pull their crap together quickly and be ready with a lot of answers.

Whisenhunt and Bidwill will have answers for Manning that is no doubt. Bottom line is going to be $$$ and ultimately location.

I think you are on the right track here, sell him with the facilities. You could mock up some serious crowd noise to play, maybe some kind of computerized imagery of him in a Cards uniform to play on the screens, etc etc. Could be awesomely impressive!!

Here is a fact: we are on the short list it seems.

Here is another fact: hardly anyone in the major media wants to admit it.

The bottom line is, Peyton or no Peyton, the fact that we are on a short list shows that players in the league consider Arizona to be a good destination and club with the desire to compete at the highest level.

Not the same old Cardinals.

How about we have him feel that it's not much different from Indy, and leave all the silly glitz to Miami.

Screw that... give Manning the Remote and let him open/close the roof himself. Next, on the Big Screen show Manning throwing deep against the Steelers and then cut to Fitzgerald snagging the ball and streaking for a TD during the Super Bowl. Then with him standing on the perfectly manicured grass, let him 'surf' the field tray out of the stadium into the perfect 70 degree sunny weather. Finally, make sure you offer him a Free bottle of gatorade for the trip home.

Denver has a very good running game. It would be scary if they got PM.

Denver had a good running game because of Tebow, just like Philly had a great running game two years ago because of Vick.

Take Tebow away from Denver's offense and their running game looks worse than everyone else's.

I think they should march him out the 50 yard line where Larry and a bag of double-stuffed Oreos are awaiting his challenge.

Yeah at first it seemed like AZ and Miami, with a few indications DEN was being added to the mix.

He's still going to go to Florida, but hopefully it's only to pack :)

Quick someone take a lighter to a water faucet in Colorado. You want to live where your water can get on fire?

According to ESPN, Manning spoke with Eric Decker and Chris Kuper while in Denver. Eric Decker?!? I like our chances with Fitz as our spokesman much better.

It's amazing how much the media is pumping up Denver's offensive skill players. Demaryius Thomas is an injury waiting to happen. McGahee could fall apart at any point. Moreno is a bust. Eddie Royal has looked average since his rookie year. I guess Eric Decker might be the best offensive player they could roll out to talk to PM, which should tell him something.

Manning is also friendly with Doucet, who he's thrown to at Peyton's camp in LA.

Of course, Doucet might not be here next season, but still...:D

Yeah, he certainly isn't being a homer for the Cards, even on a local station. He thinks Miami is in the lead. Last week it was the Jets.
