Don't get me wrong, I think the Cards should go all out to get Peyton and there are some real positives here for him. But my gut tells me that he and his family will want to somehow end up in the South, not Southwest. Peyton and his wife have twins that are about a year old. His wife is from the South and has a lot of extended family there. I just don't see her wanting to move clear across the US to AZ and what she wants is going to be key.

The more I think of it AZ, the more I agree with you. The rumor today is that he prefers the AFC---which, when you think about it, Peyton must feel he's a top dog QB in that conference---neck and neck (sorry bad pun there) with Brady, but clearly superior to everyone else.

Peyton's short list?

Texans, Titans, Dolphins---just a hunch, and not necessarily in that order.

Whisenhunt is good coach. Roster moves he has flaws, coaching on the field he is good (I did not say great, but better than anything we have had in a long time). And yes, we have had severe problems finding a QB after Warner left. Part of it is Whisenhunt and the front office, and a major part is the simple fact that finding a good starting QB is very very hard to do (go see a majority of the other teams constantly struggling in this area). I still do not see Kolb as a bust if what you want is a solid QB if his head injuries do not come into play for the remainder of his career. What hurt with the trade was not that Kolb got big money, because most franchises have the QB position getting big money regardless and he has yet to take that major pay off if he is cut in the near future. DRC did not hurt because he WAS a pro bowl cb and has played much the same with Philly has he did before he was traded from the Cardinals, average at best. What sucked was losing that 2 round pick, we could have really used it. I still believe Manning will sign with Arizona, it makes too much sense (though sense in the past was something that the Cards would lack, but if they would pay Hogeboom a ton of money at the time or Plummer...Manning is just as realistic or more so). It seems to be either the Cards or Dolphins. I know, then when he does sign, it will be something like this "climate never had anything to do with it, the Bills are where I want to be" lol

And what was DG's record with those same guys??? We were good because of a few guys. The roster as a whole is SIGNIFICANTLY better now then it was in the SB run. Players leave, especially after winning a SB. Most people learn that when they turn ten....

I have to disagree with you here. The Steelers, Colts, Saints, Pats, Packers, never lost impact players like the Cards did. And none especially lost a player like Boldin for nothing.

According to her article, I don't see her having the desire to dictate any of that:

Manning realizes she is important to Peyton's career. "The way I really help Peyton is that I don't demand a lot of his time," she says. "He's willing to give it, but I'm not the type of person that is nagging on him. I think that helps him. He's able to do what he needs to do and I'm very independent. I do a lot of my own things."

Also from reading that article, if we landed PM, we'd also gain one HELL of a great community leader in his wife as well.

Didn't lose Q for nothing...

Losing Q is hard, especially for a guy like me that LOVED Q, but we didn't get nothing for him...Kerry Rhodes came from that deal.
