I think its wrong to bash marrion because of this. Marrion ahss never been happy here and has always felt as if he was the third wheel to nash and Amare. he basically usually keeps his mouth shut and just plays. now that Kg comes along and marrion says he doesnt want to be in boston we find some way to criticize him. I think we tradr Amare if its the only way to get kg. Nash marrion and Kg would still be pretty impressive trio that would get us past the spurs. Marrion is still a great player dont take anything away from him because of this situation. it would be better if we traded marrion for kg but if we have to trade Amare so eb it.

uh, no, no, and no.

nash, marion and kg is only slightly better than last year (and that's even questionable given amare's offensive strength) which means no guaranteed title and no future (barbs alone is not enough to build on). nash amare and kg, that's a title favorite and provides for the future.

read your own post again - this what i got:

marion has never been happy here b/c he's a third banana
he keeps his mouth shut - WRONG, he ******* more than any player on the team
marion doesn't want to go to boston - despite earlier pronouncements that he'd like to consider going elsewhere to be "the man"
we should trade amare for kg

that's just awful man. sorry. awful.

If Ainge really likes Marion, maybe he can offer him a lucrative extension. I think Marion would have to feel pretty happy in Boston if they signed him up for an additional $55M over four years. And given the inflation rate of NBA salaries, he wouldn't really be that overpaid by the end of such a deal.

Bottom line, shawn marion is a horse's ass. He'll consider 4/55 an insult especially after coming off a "MAX" contract.

I am saying if the only way we could get kg is by trading amare then we trade amare. I not saying i would rather trade amare then marion for him i am just saying amare isnt untouchable by any means. he isnt a a dealbreaker if they want him and not marion. we trade amare if we have to.

Considering that they keep getting mentioned for Marion lately quite often lately and might get desperate trying to put an additional allstar next to Kobe.

Kobe trashs Bynum pretty hard in that video. :)

A) Marion wouldn't be something that would keep Kobe around.

B) Kobe trashes the front office in the video, not Andrew so much, and anyway Drew IS the centerpiece of a trade being discussed to Indy, where Donnie Walsh has wet dreams about the guy.

C) That trade suggestion is ridiculous.

What I want to know is WHY is everyone seemto be ok with trading Marion + Barbosa + picks for Garnett...

In a recent article by Marc Stein, he was saying a deal of Deng, Ben Gordon and the #9 pick was too much for chicago to give up for Bryant...

Marion > Deng
Barbosa > Gordon
ATL pick 24, 29,= #9 pick...

lol, this lame analysis again?

deng is the equal of marion with higher potential.
barbosa is equal to gordon with higher potential.
and the 24 and 29 equal 9? you're high! do you think the bulls would trade the 9 for the 24 and 29? we can't even get teams to give us a pick in the teens for those two selections.

play again though!

really if you were a t wolves fan would u trade kg for marrion? + marrion doesnt want to play there either so thats another reason for minni not to do the deal. the only chance we have to get kg is if we trade amare. sorry but thats the way it is. trade amare or dont get kg. when has marion ever complained about anything like this before? besides for when he wanted respect he deserved.

marion doesn't want to play in boston. minni may be a good place for him, they aren't totally terrible and he could be "the man" out there. him not wanting to go there doesn't say much, because he doesn't want to be with the suns very much either. if it comes down to trade amare to get KG, i say pull the trigger. amare is probably going to need more and more surgeries on his knee in the coming years, and garnett will help us win NOW. steve nash wont be there much longer, so we need to win now and not later. yes amare is a big part of the future of this team, but steve nash not winning a ring would be simply terrible. we saw in game 5 against the spurs that the suns without amare are still a great team. throw KG/diaw into the mix and we're set.

I think elindholm is right tough, Marion will go to any team that is willing to give him a contract extension that is in the 12-13M$ per year range this summer.

If Boston really wants him, they obviously would want to extend his contract. Why would Shawn Marion say no to that? He isn't getting a contract extension from the Suns that is for sure.

Because he's an insecure clown who will see that offer as an insult. This man actually thought he was as much of an MVP candidate in 05-06 as nash.

Are you spelling this badly on purpose just to annoy us?

the only reason i see them taking marion is because its better then anything the lakers could offer for kg. maybe bynum is the only thing they have but marion is better then bynum so there you go. maybe another team from the west could offer something more then the lakers or suns. mavs perhaps?

you could argue kg is the best player in the nba.

you could argue that, but a) you'd be wrong and b) no one else would even try to make that argument.

a KG-Amare deal is a lateral move at best for a contending team. Why would we make a move that makes us no better than we are now AND kill our future? That makes no sense.

i just need for it to happen already. enough of all this.

lemme pose this question:

can any of you remember a time when a superstar that had some hold over a team like kg does over minny right now, came out publicly and called for a trade to a single particular team, and that team (the suns) coveted him back, and the deal did NOT eventually get made? i honestly cannot recall such a situation.

maybe it's just hopeful thinking, but i can't believe that a player wants a team, a team wants a player, the player's current team has little leverage, and the deal doesn't get figured out? i can't believe that'll happen.

. . . so i'm calling my shot . . . somehow we get kg without giving up amare. it's gonna happen.
